I know this is premature, but...

No matter what this Mack does, even pushed to engineered limits, it won't be as fast, nor as high as KA. The GP? Likely won't care. Us? I'm already "whelmed" - and likely not overly so as time goes on, unless there is some major surprise on the horizon. The limits of this concept are very apparent, so that's that.

I liken this ride to Pantheon at BGW. It was a decision, Not the best, not the worst for the park, but it made you look nonetheless. Maybe that's what SF parks have as their baseline ethos nowadays. 😕

Clearly we’re all slightly under impressed and not too excited for this ride. However I think what we’re all excited for is what this ride begins.

It clearly marks the new direction of SFGAdv. With this installation we can look forward to bigger and better as time passes. This is jsut the start.

At least I’d imagine that’s the case. There’s absolutely no way they’ve looked at SFGAdv and stripped away what they did without the plans to add some seriously impressive rides over the next 5 years.

With that said. I’ve been wrong before. So who knows

The question with the speed and height:
Aren’t extreme spinner trains like absurdly heavy? That’s going to take A LOT of power and force to get them over 110mph and 350’ if so.
I'm wondering given all the hints they've let out if we shouldn't assume that we should assume it will be like all other mack spinner rides. If they're supposedly going for something they've never done before in speed and height and length, perhaps that includes redesigned cars or materials, etc. Maybe the height will be limited due to weight and speeds needed. Maybe they've customized this one so it's a lighter train and the ride design makes extreme heights possible. So many questions with this ride they've left us in limbo on until the spring unveiling.

I noticed some recently filed permits from GA. Could this be related in any way to this new coaster or am I just being delusional (as usual)?

So they’ll repaint the RT track but won’t repaint Nitro lmao
To quote myself on the Rolling Thunder thread:
This was probably a result of “hey, we have some extra white paint and some ladders laying around, let’s take care of something former management left to rot” and was likely done in a couple weekdays, versus Nitro being a more long term project that requires them to purchase exponentially more paint, rent equipment, etc.
We absolutely can not look at the two as even remotely similar projects that have any correlation to each other lol.

Sigh

It’s actually impressive how this hasn’t leaked yet.

I've stopped pursuing it. Records may be obtainable, but it's a real headache. If someone local wants to help me fish, let me know and I can share notes.

Ultimately though, we basically know what it is, yeah? Even if we had full foundation plans, they're basically gonna match what we have on the ground already with the addition of some tower footers. Don't think we should be anticipating many surprises.

Concrete has been poured for the first of the four large tower footings. Hasn’t been capped off yet but will probably have its cap poured in the next few days/weeks. Many of the other footings are starting to be capped off.

I think the project is very well positioned to have all of the footings (the ones currently there) poured and capped by the end of the season. By that point, all that would be left is 3 tower footings and foundation work is likely complete for the main circuit. We may still see some auxiliary foundations for electrical/mechanical components during the offseason. The remaining 3 footings for the tower all cut into the parking lot/road, and I don’t foresee the park severing that road for footings until after the season is over/very close to over.

Not sure when we’ll see shipments, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the finished foundations and site as a whole end up sitting mostly dormant during the winter months, as forward progress is now largely contingent on the track and supports arriving. It’s pretty hard to anticipate a timeline for this, but in an ideal world I’d love to see at least some vertical before the park opens next season.

Is there a chance this won’t be 400ft and instead we get a 300ft spike that looks similar to what we see on TT2? The area of the supposed tower doesn’t have me convinced it’s gonna be as tall as Ka

There's a chance, but I think the odds are low that this won't be at least 400ft. If it isn't, it will probably be very close (380-390s). Once the final 3 footings for the tower are in place, it will be clearer to see the size of the tower base correlating with the height. It will probably have a similar base to Ka's tower in terms of total area, but this will be a square base as opposed to Ka's triangular base.

I dont think all the footers are in yet. I think its possible they're waiting for the safari to close for the season before they start more footerwork in that area, as i think some of the footers will partially go into the area with the marked tree right next to the plot. Regarding the height, we're definitely looking at something that will be the tallest in north america. Im gonna pull a number out of my magic hat and say 462 ft lol.

I'm going to agree with that. Why would SF build a coaster under 400' and even beneath Ka's height? A successor should be at least Ka's height to be a worthy replacement. I'm going to be very wishful and say it will be 515' tall. That would make it North America's only "Teracoaster". Much more marketable for presumably not much more additional cost. I'd personally pee in my pants if this were to happen, 😄
