Understandable it’s an obvious thing with the delay

But to outright say we’re in no rush seems kinda crazy. The parks attendance has been really bad and they removed more rides than they’ve added in the last 10 years
I much prefer them to follow Rapterra’s timeline, so I like that they’re saying they’re not rushing. Let it cook in the oven. Rushing new attractions and areas is very short term thinking.

I saw a picture where they were doing a raffle for like 4 wheels of kingda ka and a couple bolts total? There's no way that can be true. Guess these guys dont want to make money lol.

Id be selling the wheels, the seats, cuts of track, etc. Lmao.
Not the smartest organization so it doesn’t surprise me. There was probably a pretty sizable market for these parts.

Just lending my thoughts from the comments of Ryan at the park (from that post):

Track length: I’m not really surprised at all that it will be “longer” than Ka. Six flags tends to market their coasters in ways to make things sound more grand. Such as saying the Skywarps had a combined speed of 70 mph when the 2 trains passed each other in the figure 8 (but they each went 35 mph). I can see them saying that the track length is the “traveled length” of the train. In addition, the runway needed for LSMs must be longer than that of the hydraulic launch because of the slower acceleration.

Footers: With only 50% of the footers poured and the image in this thread of the fence going all the way back, it does seem like the ride will start diagonal to Ka’s old plot, then turn and run parallel, and then turn back diagonal to make a long “U” shape (more like a “\__________/“ shape).

Timeline: Glad they’re at least saying that they are not rushing it. This is going to be a key part of the park moving forward and I would rather the theming and experience be fully fledged out. There seems to be plans for a bunch more investment in the future, so this attraction really needs to hit with the public so that the park can finally buy itself some time to work on developing other areas of the park (like the Green Lantern plot) while also having the money to do so from attendance.

Attendance has struggled since the pandemic, and even prior, it wasn’t nearly what it once was. This is one of a few reasons I’m not exactly concerned if this does end up being a shuttle.

The ride removals at this park specifically have been a necessary evil in most cases, and pure negligence on legacy SF’s part in a handful coughSkyridecough. Something I’ve thought about in the past few days is just how long Great Adventure had gone without any noteworthy removals prior to the 2024 offseason. I’m not sure I’d call El Diablo’s removal a huge deal, especially after only 4 seasons, and prior to that it was Rolling Thunder in 2013, 12 years ago now (time flies, I remember its final day of operation very well). Great Adventure is in a somewhat similar, though not quite as dire, situation as SFA where the vast majority of its rides are getting pretty old. I fully believe that they need to expedite a flat package on top of whatever they may inherit from SFA, but I also get the removals from a logical standpoint.

Ka was fairly average for a coaster’s length, there was a point in time where there were 5 longer coasters in the park (GASM/Lantern, Rolling Thunder, Medusa, Nitro, El Toro) so for its replacement to be longer isn’t all that surprising to me either. One of the most common complaints regarding Ka was just how short of a ride it was, it stands to reason that they’d want to address that with a replacement.

Then let me ask you a question,

We hear this “10 year plan” thing mentioned fairly often. However this seems like the first time it’s actually believable. If if it’s true, do you see the 10 year plan as beautification like full repaint of nitro to go along with the recent necessary repairs to el toro along with revitalizing certain areas of the park? Do you see this as a major attraction grab for the next 10’years? Or, do you see it as a mixture of both in a healthy capacity?

A Q&A non-answer about what this ride will be claimed that the track length will indeed be longer than Ka's was.

The topic of repainting Nitro was met with a "We'd love to, we'll just need to find the budget for it" type answer, so it doesn't sound like it'll be happening particularly soon.

Okay so the Wawa thing was a joke but...
Will the ride actually be goose themed? 🥺
wait, your profile pic is gumi the red bird, goose is also a bird, so, GUMI THE RED BIRB THE RIDE? (to be fair, that would be a awesome theme, maybe have flat rides themed to gumi's friends like kiwi, lemon & kohaku)

Sounds realistic

This is a shame to hear, I was really hoping it would get done in the offseason for its 25th anniversary. Still my second favorite B&M hyper to this day behind Diamondback, and easily the coaster I’ve been on the second most behind Kingda Ka.

I believe (and hope) it’s a mixture of the two. We’ve seen some progress towards beautification with the renovations of Yum Yum Palace and Granny’s, in addition to, albeit a quick fix, not making the Dream Street Skyride station shed stick out like a sore thumb. Recreating the lion statue is something I’ve hoped would happen for many years and I’m pleasantly surprised it was done at all for the 50th anniversary, let alone updated, fixed, and moved to a more permanent home this season.

I’d assume Frontier Adventures is up next after Golden Kingdom/Boardwalk, as the Great Arena is unfortunately currently the biggest eyesore in the park, Medusa is getting up there in age (though I do believe it stands a chance of relocation to a park that needs it), and the removal of the Skyride has an already quiet section down an attraction. Batman Stunt Arena is up there too, but it’s at least not decaying from the front, fits the area, and as I said in another thread a few days ago, is likely there for the long haul if for no other reason than to hide the backstage area visible from Nitro.

When they talk "10 Year Plan" that always makes me think it's more about a vision for moving the park forward, or KPIs (key performance indicators). Things change and new trends (manufacturers, ride types) in the industry pop up from time to time, so it's likely not locked in.

More like, "This year, we go after the thrill seekers. Next year, the family market. Then bring back something nostalgic, next we pivot attention to the waterpark," and so on. Probably with tentative budgets attached, which give the vision for how much they want to spend on each year, roughly.
