I joined ACE purely to register for this weekend's event when they announced they'd be doing a walkback tour of the construction site. I'm sure others' documentation of it will be much better and more extensive than mine, but if anyone on here would like to request pictures of anything in particular (anchor bolt cages noted from above!), please feel free.

I think that is amazing! Definitely check out "Roller Coaster!" magazine (the official ACE publication). It comes out quarterly and includes great articles about coasters, parks, and historical moments in the industry and always has awesome photographs of new rides, and park events.

Another note about this weekend's event at Great Adventure. They are supposedly going to be auctioning off small pieces of Kingda Ka including nuts, bolts, ride rails, etc. It could be worth registering just for that alone!

Hope to see you there.

If there's a Q&A can you ask the tough questions we all want answers to? Lol.

same here lmao.. you think they’d also give us a walkthrough of the current golden kingdom while walking back to the site? not necessarily a tour, but i can’t think of many directions it could go

I've been under the assumption that we won't be walking through any of the Golden Kingdom, but anything is possible! Portions of the Golden Kingdom will almost certainly be visible from the site either way (no reason waste resources fencing off an area that's inaccessible to guests regardless). The most recent event update made it sound like they're still working to iron out some of the tour details.

Thanks, definitely looking forward to my first magazine!

Not gonna lie, that Kingda Ka raffle would have reeled me in hook, line, and sinker even without the walkback (I think it was added in a few days later). Big time bonus!

Based on the activity schedule, there's a Q&A portion that looks like it could be an hour plus. I guess I can search for the ACE magazine on eBay or something if my membership card gets revoked during that time. 😅

Pretty quiet throughout the week on news - I’d imagine some construction was held up was because of the poor weather. Hope everyone going to the ACE Event has a great time tomorrow!
I was there yesterday and saw some activity in the work area. Nothing major, but trucks and some workers moving around. There was equipment and activity further down than we've seen so far toward the Ka tower, though still within the fenced area over the parking lot.

I just got back from a visit to the park and I noticed that all of the footers that were dug out, minus the cut up parking lot closer to the spot of Ka’s tower, have been poured and when I arrived at the park they had a cement truck on site. From the top of El Toro, I also noticed that the site was very active closer to Ka’s plot. Hope everyone enjoys the ACE event tomorrow!

I feel like they wouldn’t have the fence go all the way back behind where the Ka tower stood if they weren’t planning on having the tower for this coaster be located there.

I want to see how they utilize the rest of the Ka plot. Hope it’s not just left there to rot and something good is done with it

Devils advocate here:
They also haven’t finished cleaning that area and clearing it so the fence could be up due to that.

More info from the tour:

"So the footers range from 6 feet deep at the station to 18(!!!) feet at the furthest out, 50% of them have been poured. It will have a subtle hook layout.
“She big.”
More track than Ka.
Main focus is the boardwalk area, the corporation has big plans for the park."
