The rides you just mentioned, the Ka replacement (I assume the entrance to it will be where GLs entrance was), a rethemed version of Superman, and an entire landscape overhaul should be a great start in reviving the boardwalk.
I might be in the minority here, but I think the entire boardwalk area should be completely redone/rethemed; from Superman, to the new coaster, pretty much all the way down to the games lining that path by the Carousel.

I don’t know that it will happen at all, but if it does it’ll definitely be a multi-year project. I really love what Kings Dominion has been doing with JungleX, and my hope is that Six Flags starts leaning into doing more cohesive themed areas like this. Considering the exciting plans they have lined up for Great Adventure, I think this area could significantly benefit from a massive multi-year revamp with the new coaster as its anchor. Doesn’t necessarily have to be jungle themed. But this area is definitely most in-need of something like this, with the entire lakefront stretch from Skull Mountain down to BBNP following not too far behind.

Luckily flying coasters are very flexible theming wise, so I’m sure whatever the new coaster is themed to, they could easily find something in that realm that would fit Superman. But I think the Boardwalk is definitely going to be the hotspot for most of the park expansion in the next 5-10 years. I’d definitely love to see at least 2-3 new coasters in that area alone over that time period.

Just out of curiosity, I am going to play devil's advocate here and go off on a side note that others may have also done before...

So the spinner coaster concept. Is the only thing we are going off of as "proof" that the park is getting a large shuttle Mack spinner is that one survey from a couple years ago? What other proof, if any, do we have that it's a Mack spinner? Seriously, I want to know because the fact that it was on a survey doesn't really do it for me. We don't even know how the public responded to that survey. Were they in favor of that? Who knows. 🤷‍♂️
I would agree with you…..if it wasn’t for multiple people in the community with connections to corporate coming out and telling us it was the spinner. Namely El Toro Ryan and the Coaster Spot. The two of them were among the first to say Ka would close, the Coaster Spot actually said last August that the replacement was likely the spinner before Ka’s closure was even common knowledge. The turnaround on the coaster is another big reason to believe it’s the spinner, it had to be an off the shelf model with how suddenly everything happened

I just had an idea: what if they themed Superman to a seagull? I just did a run through of the parks on the Jersey shore and those gulls are everywhere and really entertaining to watch. It'd be a great way to integrate Superman into the boardwalk I think.

I like this idea! Also - for the boardwalk, is there a reason there isn’t…. y’know…. boards to walk on? I feel like if they put down wood to walk on it would give that part of the park a more authentic feel - but maybe there’s reasons they haven’t done that already

Because most new boardwalk are trex or something similiar now and this would be brutally expensive for that size plot. Not to mention it would have to be raised, so you'd have animals living under it/etc. The best bet would be stamped concrete with a wood print.

A 400 foot spinner is an off the shelf model? So many assertions about the tower spinner coaster are ridiculous. No where in the survey did it specify Mack nor do they have any experience with coasters with the speed to make it up a 400' tower. The only way their existing hardware could be used is have a vertical launch and braking all the way down to keep it below maybe 70 MPH. Someone said Mack must be able to do it or it wouldn't have been on the survey. I never saw much more than a 50% chance the idea came from farther away than the marketing department. Possibly a "control" question vs. real options or just a veiled poll to gauge Ka's popularity. As to "leaks" misdirection would be easy at this point.

In Coliwood's original video on the survey, he voted against the tower as the park already had Ka. Now the park doesn't have a 400' coaster so it would be at least as reasonable to believe we're getting the dark ride or family coaster instead. A full retheming of that area could be the main thing coming, with rides of course. It is reasonable to hope for something huge or impressive but this chain has shown it will not be bound by expectations. If there is a tower or towers at least one should be close to where people are as well, not off in the distance like Ka's. I think the Golden Kingdom is gone as we knew it, but could take over Boardwalk.

If Superman is rethemed, a theme of torture or stupidity e.g. Smiler would be more appropriate to the ride experience. At least Superman is an economical version of a flying theme.

Simply incredible! Literally the perfect view of it all.

That SURE DOES look like a sliding dual station (red), a maintenance track spur (blue) and a straight launch. Though maybe they altered the design slightly so it's not perfectly linear? The angle it's at now would put the tower WAY into the parking lot.

Other possibility I thought of. What if it’s a single station with a sliding switch track for the swing launch?

So assuming it’s completely linear it’s not going to touch the Ka plot at all? Also odd that the tower will potentially be even more removed from the park than the Ka tower was.

Shoot, now that you mention it... can't rule it out really. It does looks like a symmetrical array of footers on each side, could be something like this?
Great angle! Maybe my caterpillar crime scene mockup was actually somewhat accurate 🤣

Those longer footers toward the Boardwalk are definitely interesting. I would definitely say those are for some kind of sliding track; whether that's a ride element or a maintenance track. Looking at it, considering the rest of the footings come out of the middle of those footers, I think there's a very solid chance that could be for a sliding station kind of element.

Where I'm thrown off is the set of footings with the yellow arrow over them (referring to @CoasterMac's mockup). I almost want to say that those footings have two rebar cages side by side, not just one. I think this could more likely be for a maintenance bay. I think this could also be a potential option:

**Assuming this is a Mack tower coaster** Blue is the first launch and entrance into the stall element. Red is a sliding transfer track to allow for the use of two stations (they could set this up a few different ways). Green is a switch-track that leads into the purple maintenance switch track, allowing the trains to transfer into one of two different storage bays (orange). This is just my best guess given the footing setup we currently have, assuming the station will be in the Boardwalk area. That being said, I'm definitely most confident that (a) those two longer footings are for a transfer element of some sort, and (b) the long linear path of square footings is for a low-to-the-ground launch. Any element bigger than that (even an airtime-hill launch) would need lateral support, and the wider rectangular footings that run adjacent to this theoretical launch don't line up for something like a triangle or A-frame structure for something like a zero-g stall.

If it stays on this linear blue path, it will definitely take out quite the chunk of parking lot. That vertical tower would be right near the toll booths which would be an awesome visual! At the same time, it opens up a ton of room inside of the park for future expansion in the former Ka and Rolling Thunder plots.

There was a concept for a renovation of Ka that I loved, where the ride started with a backwards launch that went into a spire on the plot of the parachutes, would love to see that actually happen

If those are all the footers they are digging in total, the length looks pretty small to be a mack tower. Roughly 40% of how long KA was.

so, what's gonna happen with kingda ka plot then?
I don’t think it’s out of the question for them to just not utilize most of it, at least for now. Part of Ka’s issue as far as ridership goes was just how far removed it was from the rest of the park, and I can’t imagine they’re itching to put something right there immediately.

my guess that the new coaster entrance/exit will be where the parachute tower used to be and the ride will be taking over the old twister ride pad and half of green lantern
