I find it best to ignore the comment sections of this hobby’s videos, they seem to draw in overly dramatic people who tend to have no idea what the hell they're talking about.
You have to keep in mind how much of the online enthusiast community are genuine kids, like 11-13 years old. YouTube gets the absolute worst of it, as seen on ElToroRyan's or Coaster Studio's comment sections.

So— if the coaster does get postponed— and I’m not saying it is or isn’t, I have no idea. Would it be acceptable to instead add multiple smaller things?

This is just spitballing, but what if they added a few family flat rides, and maybe redid the kids area with a few new rides? Maybe add a wave swing, a Nebulaz, and a couple of kid rides?

While I get people want a big new coaster, I think the park’s core fans would almost rather have a mini “war on lines” scenario.

if the mini war on lines has at least one coaster while they working on kingda ka replacement, I will take it

Not to sound like a broken record, but if they do decide to add a bunch of flats… they better do it quick and be transparent about the coaster delay. And if there is still time to add a coaster for next year (even if it’s a clone of Bobcat or Georgia Goldrusher, or an off the shelf model) they need to step on it.

Personally I would love to see the golden kingdom get the aeronautica treatment. Large ride package, maybe some SFA relocations along with a general revitalization of that area, and make the path to Toro feel more permanent. Add in the coaster in 2027 to complete the area.

After that they can turn their attention to the boardwalk.

Reddit is also equally as bad. Just in general it’s a good idea to think for yourself rather than read and believe what you see in those spaces. A lot of misinformation out there.

I'd like to see the boardwalk either completely renovated to something like Aeronautica Landing at Carowinds or gutted completely. It's been an eyesore for years. I'd be happy to relocate Superman over to where the arena next to Bizarro is in order to give more life to that area

I have a feeling they are just going to build it when they can, even it means opening in the middle or at the end of the season. I don’t think they should haphazardly throw together a flat package.

I’m hoping that if they do decide to delay to 2027, they at least announced the ride by the end of this season, along with some kind of a plan for redeeming or rebuilding that entire quadrant of the park. I don’t need a massive commitment. Just this is what the new ride is, this is what the new theme is going to be, and this is how this package of flat rides will fit into it. I feel like that takes the blow out of the delay and also makes it seem like they have some semblance of a long-term plan for the park.

I'd probably be more excited for a bunch of new flats than I would be for one new coaster. Not that I don't like coasters, but the park desperately needs more variety. I'd gladly welcome a "War On Lines 2.0."

Part of me does wonder if the concerns about a delay could have something to do with the fact that the last two coasters added to the park were delayed by a year. Not saying it’s impossible (or even unlikely given the current state of the world), but JDC was delayed by a year due to the pandemic and Flash was delayed by a year due to being a last minute purchase that wasn’t originally intended for the park.

Would be pretty rough to have 3 delayed coasters in a row, but at the very least, they’re all easily explained.

This is all about tariffs driving up costs. If you’re looking at a 50-100% increase in the cost for a new coaster, it makes it difficult

I know the Coaster Spot also pointed out that originally the plan for Ka was to close in June, meaning demo would start around now. This could be wishful thinking but I think there’s still a chance we hit the 2026 opening, if there’s still nothing in late July I’ll hit the panic button. I don’t know how this park can survive another year in this current state. Attendance has been pretty abysmal.

Update to this post:

According to the FAA's pre-evaluation tool, a coaster over 200ft on the Ka site will require an FAA waiver. Per my searching, we still don't have one of those for this project yet either. That's super concerning given that "You must submit notice at least 45 days before the start of the proposed construction or alteration or the date an application for a construction permit is filed, whichever is earliest."

Still no FAA waiver.

Im still wishful as well. I feel as though the only way this ride still opens in 2026 is if the ride is not super tall and doesn’t require a waiver (which would be shocking ngl), or they fast-track construction later this summer (unlikely given Six Flags’ usual pace). They had mentioned an (hypothetical) announcement coming around late July-early August for the new ride, so at the very least around then we’ll get confirmation on what’s actually going on.

It makes me wonder if they’re holding off on revealing a delay until after they push 2026 season passes later this summer, sheerly to avoid hurting sales numbers. I’d be curious if that constitutes bait-and-switch advertising or just straight up deceptive advertising, but even if it doesn’t, that tactic is still very misleading, especially to families and parkgoers making plans under the assumption they’re getting a new for 2026 coaster. If this is considered a FTC-legal tactic, I honestly wouldn’t put it past them, but they’d still have to compensate for this delay in some way or they’re going to have A LOT of angry customers.

Most guests aren’t reading FAA databases or tracking costs, but they do remember when you say something’s coming and then don’t deliver. Delays and silence just reinforce the feeling that the park is out of touch or doesn’t care. Especially with other parks in the chain like Six Flags Over Texas already generating buzz around their new ride. They’re going to try to spin it by saying they’re “taking extra time to deliver something truly world-class,” but that won’t change the fact that they’ve now built a pattern of overpromising and underdelivering. It’s definitely frustrating, especially for a park that is being touted to get all of this new investment and attention after the merger.
