There's also an excavator doing stuff in Kingda Ka's plot. It's right at the edge of the frame so it's hard to tell if it's digging or moving dirt piles around.
There's that big sloping pile of dirt over there since they started work earlier this year. Looks like they used it as an all-purpose dumpsite for soil they dug up or cleared. We've all been guessing what that's about and if its temporary or some permanent feature. Assume that's what the excavator is working on.

Magic mountain teasing track and supports with posts

Great adventuring teasing season pass giveaways

Sigh
Magic Mountains ride was supposed to be for 2025 initially, it was delayed two years instead of one, and they’re JUST now getting track on site

GAdvs new coaster is only being delayed a year as of now, and we’re starting to see supports and stuff on site already

We’re literally farther ahead of schedule than they are lmao

Not to mention there’s a small (possibly very small) chance that GAdv’s coaster opens this year.

Yeah, timeline aside, this is a much larger project than the thrill glider. It’s also absolutely not unheard of for Great Adventure to be well into site preparation + shipments before a coaster is announced, this happened with El Toro and Kingda Ka.
Seeing as a lot of the delays have been out of their control, the park is doing a solid job at getting this thing built. I like that we’re seeing supports/track(?) on site already

It also takes more effort to build a several hundred foot tower
I disagree. There's likely hundreds of more footers for a layout that is actually full circuit and custom-designed for the site and its terrain, which itself requires significantly more preparation than Great Adventure's parking lot does for a linear shuttle. People should start taking the disinvestment (relative to the other flagships) and complete lack of urgency to improve at face value imo

I will actually agree that, purely looking at the two projects from a construction volume standpoint in a vacuum, the SFMM coaster is probably more difficult—tons of footers, tons of terrain, lots of land stabilization work, California building regulations, lots of impediments around the site, etc.

That being said, the SFGAdv project is much larger in scope overall (remember: we're anticipating a fair amount of theming and a significant overhaul to the surrounding area), far, far more daring from a technological standpoint (meaning longer testing and commissioning times most likely), and, weather wise, working in SoCal is a dream compared to working in Jersey (SFGAdv's construction season is way shorter than SFMM's). Oh, and SFMM, being a year-round park, also has far more flexibility when it comes to ride debut windows. It could make sense for SFMM to open a new attraction late in the summer or even during the winter—SFGAdv really has a much narrower window during which they can stage an optimally successful attraction debut.

The future of many parks in the chain are uncertain at the moment and I'm not going to say that it's impossible that your pessimism could be proven correct eventually. That said, I don't see a reason to buy into it for now given the publicly available evidence.

Most everyone with a Six Flags park has their home park is at least vaguely spooked right now. SFGAdv is in an above average position though if you ask me.

With the name Phantom Spire and the fact that this coaster is likely going to have a double loading station with a switchtrack like Mr Freeze, I can't help but imagine the theming possibilities in the station and queue. Have it be an enclosed station with cool lighting/theming effects like Mr. Freeze. I also am kinda hoping for a preshow building as well like Dr. Diabolical's Cliffhanger.

As long as it’s not DC themed and is something actually original, I’m fine with whatever they come up with

How? TT2 has already proven the LSM strata concept, not that a strata is even confirmed to be coming to Great Adventure. Adding spinning trains isn't some huge innovation. The Thrill Glider is a first of its kind concept, not that I love it, but it certainly has had fewer installations than either LSM stratas or Mack spinners in general. I certainly think it's more "daring" to build a prototype.

I'm really quite sick of the forced positivity myself. If you don't enthusiastically gobble up the scraps the shareholders throw you and ignore your memories of a time when the park was enjoyable, you're a troll. I don't see what's so hard to read about the writing on the wall; Great Adventure has been long ignored, and the addition of two shuttles is a row is an insult to not only every thoosie, but every parkgoer, who DO notice the slop they've been served and likely will not enjoy the wait times. They're continuing to kill this park slowly. If there's one demographic the long-lines-to-encourage-fastpass-purchase model will not work well on, it's the populace of the NYC metro.

Edit: also the line in the Six Flags earnings call for this past quarter about "core" parks becoming "non-core" parks if they don't respond to investment is absolutely about Great Adventure. Its future is already prophesied.
