Although it's been a while since this discussion started. Just wanted to pointed out that the area where the Go Karts now once opperated by looking what's highlighted in pink, is large enough for the rumored dive coaster to be built here just in case the original plans to replace the entire front entrence plaza gets moved to this area here. I wouldn't mind it being a traditonal 200 footer that ranges aroung 200-209ft since SFOG is claimed to have some sort of height restriction where nothing can go over 210ft over a law signed by the FAA in the 90s, and SFFT being another park that kind of height restriction also. Selfishly, I couldn't be less interested in a B&M dive at my home park. Their layouts are passe and build quality has become questionable.

I'd be much more interested in a full circuit launch coaster as I think even with Georgia Gold Rusher, the park is still lacking in the launch space. Imagine a Vekoma Firestorm / Ghostrider, Mack LSM sit down or Xtreme spinner, even a Zamperla LSM model. I'll leave Intamin out as it seems they are DOA for new Six Flags rides at this point. I'd even take a Vekoma family launch like Big Bear Mountain over a dive.

Doesn't Over Georgia have a height limit of around 200 feet as well? That alone makes me not interested in a dive for them, if it'd just mean a 7 across model. I'd much rather see them get the premier multi-launch from their recent survey.

I'm also curious if a possible Carowinds dive would impact the chances of Over Georgia getting one, or vice versa.

I would probobly say that isn't nececarily the case as B&M still uses the larger and wider gauge track found on Valravn and Yukon Striker, in which Tormenta at SFOT uses so it should be a smooth ride as a result. The trains themselves could be the issue as why the rattle happens.

They do and 210ft is where park can't go over cuz of the airport and a law signed by the FAA sometime in the 90s. The Go Karts area would be the only place where it could be bypassed with lower elevation level as that was how Skyscreamer managed to be added as it goes over 200ft. I doubt the likely hoods of a Carrowinds dive impacting SFOG getting one as they're both 4 hours of distance and location does not affect the probobility.

To me, a no-brainer would be to use this underutilized land to construct a Carowinds-style "front" gate revitalization without having to demolish the existing entrance. It would take some major improvements in the park to make a nice entry plaza, but I feel like it's doable, and would end up being a much better long term option.

The current entrance is awkwardly placed, and while historic, is not equipped for the crowds SFOG pulls and is capable of pulling following expansion. It's also incredibly inconvenient to access from much of the parking lot, and is far away from Hurricane Harbor's entrance. Utilizing this space would allow for a new, impressive looking front gate coaster, new infrastructure that can handle the crowd levels, with major opportunities and incentives to improve the long-neglected areas on that side of the park. My pick for the coaster? Premier multi launch, going above, under, and around. I don't think a dive is the way to go. A wish list item I have is adding a new train station and incorporating it as part of this new entrance area.

SFOG's old entrance could absolutely remain standing, and even be utilized as an overflow / premium parking / pickup/dropoff entrance.

I agree the park is a hike to enter. I think we could get a dive coaster where the drop goes under the entrance much like fury at carowinds. but also this probably won't happen but a mach Xtreme spinner would do wonders for this park it fills in the full circuit punchy launch that this park is desperately needing.

Ok just got off holiday and made some concept art and as my name implies I design roller coasters if wanted I would be happy creating a layout I was thinking if it was a dive then what about " the great Georgia drop" or something like that I think with this image you guys can see the vision please add some feedback :/nolimits2)planetco

I would definetly love to see the full layout incorporated based on your ideas, assuming the concept being refered as the "Great Georgia Drop" concept

Okay sounds good I have Monday of for mlk day so I'll get to work we'll see if I can get the back drop of the rest of the park but we'll see I will use the area you highlighted in pink earlier I'll probably use planet coaster 2 instead of my usual nolimits 2 because it will be easier building paths, station etc.

Ok for some reason screenshots are not working but I have a quick blueprint for a possible dive coaster layout with a Carowinds style entree (marked with E) stats : 207 ft, 4 inversions, 3,334 ft of track, 72 mph Records: tallest and fastest coaster in Georgia, first fly-by entree in Georgia I might do one with all recent survey options too.

It's cool to discuss what you'd like to see in a rumor thread like this, but if you're looking to discuss the specifics of a concept you've created, this probably isn't the best place for that. If you have a really in-depth, long-form, detailed pitch, you can create a concept thread.

Ok I still think the premier multi launch would be a great option but this has me excited for a dive and that doesn't happen often especially with the potential it has with a wider gauge track!

I remember that the rumor stated where its height is set to be around 200ft, so it would most likely use the wider gauge track that Tormenta at SFOT uses and others like Yukon Striker and Valravn, instead of the smaller gauge track Wrath of Rackshassa, Iron Menace and Dr. Diabolical uses. This is definetly a nice concept and looks super realistic.
