There’s also a good chance they will not be on display ever and stay backstage due to it being to warm in the Orlando exhibit for emperors.

The Emperors can easily reside and go on display in the Antarctica Realm building with the other species of Antarctic penguins that live there. And being that this is the first time that SeaWorld Orlando will have Emperor Penguins, it would be stupid of them not to have them on display as they could help boost park attendance especially since they are the largest penguin species on the planet and the only place you could previously see them on display in North America was SeaWorld San Diego.

The emperor penguins have been placed on display in Orlando. The rest of the penguins and puffins in San Diego are going to move out in November
It's just crazy if the park thinks no one is going to notice or care that an entire category of animal was removed. This will be the only SeaWorld not to have penguins, and assuming they'll rename Emperor, it'll be the only SeaWorld not to have any representation of Antarctica.

The Magellanic Penguins are staying and getting a new exhibit so there will still be penguins. also technically, San Antonio‘s Penguin exhibit is themed to far South America and the islands around it not Antarctica. Also let’s hope if they retheme emperor we will get theming and a station maybe a tie in with Atlantis‘s new story?

I guess that's technically true (or rather in line with the rumors)... I should've said this will be the only SeaWorld without the iconic "cold" penguins that people normally think of and expect to see. The bottom line is that just having the Magellanic penguins is going to be a major disappointment for guests, just as it would be if the Shark encounter featured nothing but Spiny Dogfish sharks. Like I'm fully expecting to see (actually already seeing) the pass holder page fill up with complaints and people vowing to cancel their passes over this.

Emperor getting a rename and theming would definitely be a silver lining in all this haha but at the same time I'd be much happier to see it get themed as a mini Antarctica land with a new penguin encounter. Incidentally, imagine how weird it'll look if we end up having a southern South America themed habitat in the Arctic section of the park.

They are not on display yet. They make their official debut on June 14 however Pass Members will be able to get able to get early access on June 12 and 13.

It looks like whatever is happening to the penguins has been either delayed or canceled. Hopefully, they are going back and scaling up their plans, as new additions to SeaWorld Parks have been improving in quality recently

I figured they decided to keep this open a little longer because so much of the park is currently closed. As it is right now it’s hard to justify a visit unless there’s an event going on like Mardi Gras or Seven Seas, because aside from that there’s 3-4 rides, 2 shows, and maybe 60% of the animal exhibits open. Also it seems like SeaWorld doesn’t typically do multiple major projects in parallel, so it’d probably just be sitting untouched until work is finished on Shark Encounter.

A couple weekends ago i noticed the lower level of the Penguin encounter was closed off. Not sure if that’s a sign of anything. I guess we’ll see if anything happens after the Shark Encounter reopens, or after the summer ends.
