Sadly they use the building for far too many things to make it easy to change to a flat rideIf they’re comfortable reusing the Castle O Sullivan building for another flat they could get a new flat in there, maybe a Zamperla Demolition Derby?
Either a high-definition remake of Corkscrew Hill, or another high-fantasy, Irish myth inspired ride like Battle for Eire would be perfect. I'd be perfectly okay with either or if done well.
thisIf we got the ride system in question, I would hope that we would use another animated film with a fantasy theme like Corkscrew or Eire rather than a realistic, filmed video like Europe in the Air or Expedition Odyssey. The animated ride films seem to consistently turn out better and age better.
Eire had a bunch of problems, but I don't think the visual quality of the film was one of them. I don't see why Falcon's Creative or similar couldn't provide a ride video of a similar quality for a flying theater. In fact, one would assume the quality ceiling could be notably higher given the technological advancements since Eire, the lack of a need for spherical video, and the lack of a need for Eire's interactivity layer.
I know it gets brought up all the time, but a new Corkscrew Hill in a flying theater format really is the dream, yeah? I don't know if the Mack system is capable of a particularly dynamic ride a la Corkscrew, but even if it was a tamer iteration, I think it could work.
Maybe instead of a box full of tiny little people strapped into tiny little seats, Patty and Fenton could find a group of tiny little humans magically bound to a log in the forest? Just spitballing here.![]()
Your comment of repeat ride value is what I hope is the main focus of any replacement for this ride/attraction. I wasn't here for any other iterations prior to Battle for Eire, but that experience while interesting the first go round had nothing to keep me wanting more of it outside of some air conditioning.I rode Soarin' over Europe once.... (To me) It was extremely dull and had no repeat ride value whatsoever. If they were going with something in that style they may as well just hang pictures of the countryside up in the queue line and have people just step across the ride and exit without sitting down.
I enjoyed Eire but the headsets were a tad clunky. Don't think they could have approached that much better though. Something appropriately themed, well animated, with a story would be great. Not a new sentiment but my two cents. I'm glad there is some variety of talk on getting a ride back in that building, hope it moves forward.
