Please, NO!

Not opposed to a coaster, but it needs to be left elsewhere. Ireland/Wild Reserve are the only two lands where there is no major roller coaster to depreciate the sightlines and they’re also much calmer and quaint as a result. They should stay that way. Also, the park has too many launches at this point, and they really need to focus on non-coaster attractions, such as the new sim building ride, flatrides, and similar items.
Agreed 1000%

Yeah, now that Curse of DarKastle's building has been allocated to a coaster, I firmly believe the Killarney Sim Building needs to be utilized for something at least darkride adjacent—whether it be a new simulator, a flying theater, a madhouse, some sort of new theater attraction like Danse Macabre, one of those new compact, turntable darkride concepts, or even a themed, indoor flat ride.

Long-term, I'm in favor of a coaster utilizing the land behind Killarney out towards the park entry area, but I'd want to see the station outside the Killarney hamlet walls. The park needs more indoor, family experiences and the Sim Building is far more valuable as a home for that than as a coaster station.
Oddly enough, back in 2002 there were plans for a floorless coaster behind the former sim building, but it would have required too much tree removal. Also, they would have had to fill in the water area, which would take away from the beauty of the area. The plans were scrapped. Remember that in the early 2000's, the floorless coaster was a fairly new concept.

Floorless like Dominator, or a Dive Machine without the floor like what they ultimately got with Griffon?

I'd love more info too @Vanewsman! Not a chapter of BGW history I'm familiar with!

If you have more, I'll split off this discussion into a new thread—seems like a really interesting bit of trivia!

How about a vakoma suspended dark Ride it may require a little more space but I think it can work

How about a vakoma suspended dark Ride it may require a little more space but I think it can work

There are likely small-scale darkrides which could work with some clever engineering (Carowinds' Boo Blasters is a fairly close size comp), and, if they're willing to go multi-level, there's a ton of height to work with too. That said, my suspicion is that the Vekoma suspended darkride system is far less nimble (and almost certainly way more expensive) than traditional tracked darkrides and the enormous size of the building at SWO seems to back up that theory.

So yeah, I think this being a sister attraction to SEAQuest is very unlikely.

A B&M launch (another coaster I’d be too tall for) in that building would send me over the edge. Thank god that won’t happen.

Give me Danse Macabre, give me a tracked dark ride, or give me a flying theater (or give me death [which I’d prefer over another coaster w a fucking height limit])

Honestly, I wouldn’t hate an Irish Danse Macabre. The theming that Danse Macabre has is mostly physical sets and creative lighting and audio, so most wouldn’t be like Verbolten where it wouldn’t just rot. And given their focus on physical sets and such, I hope that’s true.

Hopefully (like with the Mack flying theater) they don't start building more of anything until they see how it's received by the public. Yes, the Vekoma dark ride looks promising, but if they can't give a decent ride experience to go with it, it will fall flat. So many of the most ambitious projects Busch/SeaWorld/United Parks have done fell flat because they didn't full invest in creating the experience beyond just the ride system (Atlantis, Penguin Trek, etc.).

I still stand by wanting to see a Reese Cupfusion/Boo Blasters/Toy Story Mania like interactive dark ride. I like a Mack Flying Theater - but I think that would make for a really cool EfP replacement in the future. To me the only other place an interactive dark ride would have made sense is DK building and they already used that.

As far as a flat-in-a-box (TM) you can put that almost anywhere in the park, and I wouldn’t want them to use one of their best, biggest, indoor spaces for something like that.

If there's space, the Intamin Dome Ride Theater could be cool (requires 27x19m, building is 27.8x33) e.g. Hypersphere 360° at Seaworld Abu Dhabi (plus they can claim the record of first in the west)
If they want a cheap interactive game ride, the Alterface Interactive Dark Ride is a good option e.g. Justice League at 6F or Reeses Cupfection at Hershey.

I still think a new flying theater e.g. Soarin over Ireland (maybe a sister attraction to Expedition Odyssey) is the best bet given the space though. Cheapest install (although filming will cost money), quickest change-over, and possibly the most popular way to do it. Flying theaters are always popular, even at regional parks, as we've seen with ExOd, Soarin, Fly Over America, Niagra Takes Flight, etc
