So the Giga is a for sure thing!? So whats up with them getting 2 big coasters in 2-3 years? Pretty unusual for any park...
SFGAm does pretty well for itself; if the kiddie land is the next addition, this could come after. Since two of their more recent coasters were duds (Joker and Maxx Force), I can see them wanting to pivot to something more reliable/high-capacity.

Also maybe those two may be moved or scrapped if there's something better on the way? Joker could move for sure - I could see that going to a smaller park like WOF or Carowinds (maybe a stretch but it could go into Aeronautica Landing?), as it's still a marketable attraction, but would be lost inside a larger lineup of mega thrill rides.

From what I’ve been told, New Six Flags is going to be treating this park like Cedar Point because corporate believes it has the most potential out of any other legacy Six Flags park in the chain. If this is true, the future for this park is as sky high as it’s ever been in its history.

If this were fan art, I think most people would have added another 1000 feet to the layout. Measuring the center line layout in the above document, I get about 3,500 feet. I confirmed this by tracing out the approximate route on Google Earth and got about the same measurement. The document above is to scale. 1000-1500 feet needs to be added to this measurement to account for vertical distance traveled. (Remember, if the lift hill goes from 20 feet to 280 feet, and drops to ground level, that adds 540 feet to the track length from the first drop alone.) If we are pessimistic on the track length, and assume the ride only has low hills and only add 1000 feet for vertical distance, we end up with a track length of about 4,500 feet (Orion is 5,321 feet). That being said, this layout appears to have several tall hills (that hammerhead will need to be quite the elevation change to take comfortably). Without doing a mock-up, I am guessing just over 5000 feet of track.
The only building I notice removed is the Johnny Rockets to make room for the station, as well as a minor re-route of the parade route and the removal of the old top spin footers.

I mean yeah, first glance I thought it was fake. If it’s over 5000 feet of track, then maybe not. It just seemed too short when I looked at it.

At this point with all the teasing over the years I just want it to happen. I’d love to see the park build a Giga.

If this is real, I think it would have a DC Comics name. They just need to move the DC Universe sign over to Superman and rename Big Easy Balloons and Roaring Rapids. This would contain all of the DC Comics stuff except for Justice League to one area of the park. Justice League could be redone at a later date to fit in with Southwest Territory or County Fair.
I don’t think the park would give it a DC theme just for merchandise alone. This coaster would likely move a ton of merch.
I have been wanting to buy Batman the Ride Merch but I’ve never seen it. The park sells generic DC merch mostly.

Anyways, I could be wrong but just my theory on the theme.

Yes, I can see this park really thriving under the new company. It is becoming what Six Flags Great Adventure should be, IMO. I see the new SF eventually dropping the DC license (before the 2050 contact end date) however that probably won't be for a while since they just invested in BTR theming. I also agree that the new coaster will have a non-DC theme as it holds up better when marketing the attraction as unique to the park. It can also stand the test of time as it isn't dependent on the park renewing a license. Could you imagine if Kingda Ka was themed to a superhero? It would have been lumped in with the other Supermans, Batmans, etc and wouldn't have gotten its own spotlight.

Attempting to make this coaster in no limits is hard considering the layout is just a square with a pony tail. The issue is trying to keep the g-forces under control. This layout is 297 feet tall and a mere 4179 feet long. The layout carries too much energy to make more smaller hills which could add considerable track length.

I personally think if this is real that the theme would likely go with the Mardi Gras area. With it being "project rocket" maybe some sort of firework/bottle rocket theme? Idk. I'm not convinced this is real. The layout just looks too confusing/wonky that it looks kinda rushed tbh.

Yeah... I'm doing some mockups now, just trying to remotely keep things realistic to B&M (forces, design philosophy, etc)., and it's a struggle. Even just mostly following the "proposed centerline" and ignoring the foundation locations, it's a challenge. The one complete circuit I was able to draft up so far didn't even crack 4,000ft of track.

I am still holding the opinion that these plans have some degree of realism or finalization to them (specifically the placement of the station and lift), but the rest of the layout itself is/was still up in the air. I really hope they can manage to increase the budget for this and postpone this a year or two, cause it just objectively needs to be as long as Orion, no questions asked.

Naming a ride Hurricane in a New Orleans themed area would be in horrifically poor taste.

I sincerely doubt we’ll see another Bizarro themed ride considering they went through the effort of removing that theming from the ones we had. I do also wonder if they’d really want to theme another coaster to Green Lantern, give the public perception of the two they had (especially SFFM’s).

Granted, I really just don’t see them theming it to a DC character. Gigas are enough of a draw on their own, they don’t really need the IP boost.

or a theme that would be poor taste for the New Orleans area

what other New Orleans based names that we didnt see or wanted to be reused: something like reusing the mega zeph name?

I want what the name for this giga coaster if come to Great America and built in the New Orleans area (the Orleans king?)
