I’m likely going to say a very extreme take: Aquaman Splashdown takes up entirely too much real estate. Can likely fit a newer more modern flume, the station for a giga, and another attraction on that plot.

Didn’t realize there was two rides there. But yes. All go.Removing Aquaman Splashdown wouldn't free up much space unless you also remove Logger's Run.
Someone also told me the idea of having the station be where Johnny Rockets currently occupies in Mardi GrasHere are a few ideas for potential Giga coaster locations. The first two would require the removal of Superman Ultimate Flight and would go under and over the new entrance to the park.
The third idea assumes Kidzopolis is on the way out and requires the removal of the redundant section of access road between Justice League and X-Flight. It would also require the queue for Justice League to be relocated to the grass area on the other side of the building and would most likely require a setback variance along Route 21.

Yeah not happening. Both those flumes when open together regularly pull waits over an hour and they are NOT low capacity either.Didn’t realize there was two rides there. But yes. All go.
And fair enough. Those rides really do take up a large plot of land though and if they really wanted to expand that’s prime real estate.Yeah not happening. Both those flumes when open together regularly pull waits over an hour and they are NOT low capacity either.
If a water ride at that park had to be removed it’d be the rapids, which is hardly ever open. And even replacing THAT with a major coaster is a tough sell as that side of the park is right up next to residential areas, and those people DO complain.
A giga at SFGAM really just isn’t a feasible option because half the park isn’t suitable, most spots would require the removal of something incredibly significant, and the lineup doesn’t really cry out for one.
The homes were there before the park.Especially when the park was there before the development. Bad urban planning IMO.
I was talking generality as opposed to park specific. The homes were there before the park.
Honestly I think we could be looking at a complete retheme of the Mardi Gras area if this ends up being the caseIf we're thinking of getting really creative, I've measured it, and a brake run, turn, station, lift hill, drop, valley, and airtime hill would fit as shown below. The station could take up the plots of Mardi Gras Hangover and Big Easy Balloons, the lift hill could go over Joker, and the valley could fit above the water basin of the log flumes. After a hill, the next valley could go in the Wilderness Theater plot, then the coaster could go over Goliath's covered tunnel and out into the employee parking lot.

Any Giga they put in would not replace EagleI would love a Giga, but I don’t think I’d sacrifice American Eagle, which is the obvious spot to put it.
If this were fan art, I think most people would have added another 1000 feet to the layout. Measuring the center line layout in the above document, I get about 3,500 feet. I confirmed this by tracing out the approximate route on Google Earth and got about the same measurement. The document above is to scale. 1000-1500 feet needs to be added to this measurement to account for vertical distance traveled. If we are pessimistic on the track length, and assume the ride only has a few hills and only add 1000 feet for vertical distance, we end up with a track length of about 4,500 feet (Orion is 5,321 feet). That being said, this layout appears to have several tall hills (that hammerhead will need to be quite the elevation change to take comfortably). Without doing a mock-up, I am guessing just over 5000 feet of track. To me it is most likely fake. Seems too short of a layout.
