I think it's very weird that my attempt to get absolutely every prediction wrong in post #79 led to getting the Wundertree bit slightly right.

Can't wait to experience the new VB. Leaning into the odd pause-filled pacing inside the show building is such a smart move.

I think this (hopefully not AI-generated) ad BGW just posted could give some decent insight into what the interior of the show building will look like.

It seems like the color scheme has been pretty consistent in these ads. I think the old Black Forest’s kind of neon purple/blue/green look is gonna be replaced with a much bigger emphasis on reds and blues, which I think is pretty sick and will help distinguish from the 2012 version of the ride.

Also a huge fan of the “evil tree” thing, and would imagine it’s gonna have some presence in the show building. I could see that happening one of two ways:

1. The giant physical prop tree that the train goes through will have red lights emanating from its interior and a face on the outside. I’m imagining its face facing the first midcourse and riders diving into the mouth through mist and red light (essentially exactly as-seen here).

2. I’m also thinking the animatronic at the end of the drop track could be what we see here. I don’t think it’ll be a super advanced figure, so a tree with a moving face would fit the bill.

I can’t imagine they’d do both of these simultaneously, so if I had to pick I think I’d prefer option 1 then a different animatronic on the drop track. If I had to guess what’ll actually be there, I’d say the tree in the layout will just be a tree, then the tree w the face will be saved for the drop track.

Or there won’t be a tree with a face at all and this entire post is wrong. But I do think these ads can give us a solid idea of what to expect in the show building. I’m expecting it to feel a lot less mysteriously spooky and a lot more sinister.

Not much here that others haven't already shared but here is what I got last night.

Imo they should take this opportunity to up the spooky factor in the queue and station. I like the “happy and normal to fast and scary” pipeline of the OG but you can definitely use the station to set 2.0 apart thematically. Make the place feel abandoned and neglected. Replace the happy spiel with staticky radio Black Forest music and a more sinister voice for the spiel. Lot of potential here. I’m thinking Mystic Timbers in the German countryside.

I can't emphasize how much they better pull through... this was my fav station in the park :(

maybe I just need to trust the process
It looks so bland right now… I might be a little excited for the opening though

As long as they don’t fuck up the theming that much, I’m alright, also keep Sandra bullock.

I’m just so impressed at the timeline of this. This would take most any other park an entire season. This is almost on the level of what’s happening at Buzz Lightyear at WDW and that’s taking almost a year. Disney, Universal, Dollywood, heck even some SF parks would take at least six months to do something like this. The idea that this’ll take around 4-5? Wild

Agreed. I can’t diss the original story because it’s clear that creative people poured a lot of passion into telling a well thought out, clever, original story — and that’s all that I can ask for in a theme park attraction. But, the story did always feel a little “cartoony” for my tastes. I really like that they seem to be taking a grittier direction with this retheme.

What we know is here:

The spirit of the forest fabric cutout is almost certainly being removed.
