I’m fucking disappointed in them. The characters and the theming were the best part of the ride. For them to just bitch out Gerta and Gunter is such a waste. Plus the storyline was amazing now it’s just “don’t turn right blah blah blah” it actually had more theming in the past then it has now… bring back Gerta and Gunter and the hardcore lore! Imma boycott this SHIT absolute SHIT if the don’t bring back peak theming.

what the fuck happened to the peak theming?

In terms of characters, I want to point out that the OG ride had both Gerta and Gunter but it seemed like they left Gunter out in the dust. There really wasn't that much mention of him and the only mention that Gerta got was the station audio and a couple TVs. What I really love about this renovation is the fact that they're actually infusing the characters in the storyline. You have Frau Hexel and Brüm, and both of them have their own separate, full-motion animatronics, and both of them are actually part of the main story.

Also, I personally think the theming for this is better than the OG.

I'm personally hyped for this thing, and when is the last time you saw a regional theme park get 3 separate animatronics for a single attraction? I think what BGW is doing here is maybe not quite Disney or Universal-level, but damn, it's close.

This seems like it will have a far more cohesive theme from start to end. I first rode this in 2014 or 2015 at xmas town and I was underwhelmed by the show building back then.

What I didn't hear from the tour, though I did skim through it, is if there will be multiple versions still?

I’d have to go back and confirm where it came from, but one of the representatives mentioned it will now stick to a single theme.

At the drop track, the Hexel animatronic will cast a lightning-like spell, triggering the overhead trees to react just before the track drops.

That’d be a bit of a bummer to lose the surprise element of never knowing which “story” you’ll get, but I’ll take one strongly executed story over three decently executed ones any day. Plus, even at their best, the original “stories” were nothing more than a different sound effect and lighting color — and the lights barely worked by the end of Verbolten 1.0’s run anyway.

Right! I have a feeling some people depending on the year didn’t even realize they’re 3 separate versions.

This take is as bad as your pfp’s musical output

Especially with the new elements going in and the use of LED lighting they could have done more to have the whole show building be a part of the multiple story lines.

Blue - Storm Spirits
Red - Wolf attack (well I guess not so much with BBW:WR)
Green - Forest Spirit

Eh I still think one cohesive theme is better. People don't get tired of the same thing on every Disney/Universal ride. That's because they're done so well.

That being said, the tree branch LEDs are such an awesome idea. This deserves to be a massive hit so BGW can load up on the theming budget for future additions. With the way US parks seem to be moving more towards theming and atmosphere, it makes sense BGW would help lead the charge.

I agree with single is better, but some variety could be cool as well and doesn't really break the single story either way if it was just the lighting being a different color.

I'm sure Darkoaster is not on their radar at all, but man Darkoaster could be enhanced probably fairly cheaply, It just needs more and maybe some dividers if the ride envelope allows it in spots.
