The name is okay. What's not okay is that apparently SWSA has announced a coaster via press release but there's no mention of it on their website or their own social media pages—and essentially zero teaser campaign to get to this point too. Seriously—what do the marketing people in this chain even do? Insane. You cannot convince me that this doesn't have a real, measurable effect on the reach of these announcements and, in turn, ultimately, the performance of these attractions.

Marketing did a great job with catapult falls, but since Rescue Jr, it went down hill. They teased the theme by putting signs showing different national parks. There was a media day where they showed the animation and did a construction tour. They announced when the boats arrived and did a construction tour while the water was running. A teaser was posted for Rescue Jr, but it was taken down, and the announcement was delayed. There was no media day, but different pictures of concept art were posted. They did a construction tour, but it was with a very small group. For Barracuda Strike, there has been no teaser. So far there has been no announcement posted by SWSA, and we only have one image of concept art.

Part of me wants to get a job as a marketing intern at United because I’m confident, despite having zero marketing experience and maybe passable technical skills, I could do significantly better than their actual people through effort and common sense alone.

Edit: I will say I don’t hate the name or logo of this one. Yes, they’re lazy, but the at this point the bar is set approximately in the ocean’s Photic zone, which according to google is where Barracuda live

Based on that very brief layout teaser, and incorporating said portion into the layout, I think this is pretty much all it could be. Very simple out & back layout, probably with some form of 360* helix on the return run.

This mockup layout here has a track length of 1,841ft. I'm assuming the "1,800ft long" stat is somewhat rounded, so this track length is basically within one or two track piece difference.

I haven't done Phoenix Rising, but I like the look of the double down drop it has. Felt like a good flow to copy here.

Then comes the turnaround with twists on entry & exit.
