I mean I’m not expecting it in 2024 at this point. It just seems unlikely with current circumstances and that’s fine honestly, I’m just tired of speculating the “what” at this point. I mean we have no idea other than they were considering a smaller wing coaster before but considering Dorney went from a GG woodie to a B&M Dive it could be anything at this point. Basically I’m just getting impatient with staring at the literal hole in Jungle X at this point and having no clue wtf is going there. The RCT player in me is like “click new attraction damn it!” 😂😂😂

I have a feeling that this will be an unpopular opinion but I actually like the way the area looks better without Volcano. The moat area filled in with brush and the abandoned entrance/exit building just add to the area. With the exception of doing something with the gravel pit view from Reptilian I would honestly prefer the left the area alone and concentrated their efforts in other areas.

A future coaster on the other side of the park would be better from a park balance standpoint than another one in Jungle X.
Whatever they put on that plot is going to be what Park-Goers consider Volcano's replacement. Anything that isn't a coaster is going to be slammed and derided horribly, regardless of what coaster may be installed in another part of the park.

But the other side of the park is water ride heavy ever since they took out Haunted River and Diamond Falls, that's why I'm hoping for a Mack water coaster in the Volcano plot.

I totally agree that what they did to blend Volcano’s remaining structures into the landscape looks fantastic. Replacing the ugly moat with a ton of foliage really makes the whole thing look like it just belongs in the jungle. Plus, the paint and roof work they did to the buildings give it a great presence and really help mask that there was ever a giant coaster right there.

That said, from an aesthetics perspective, I think something eventually needs to go in Volcano’s plot. The giant gravel pit visible from Reptilian, FOF’s plaza, and really any elevated structure in the park is bad enough. But the real kicker is the unobstructed view of FOF’s show building from almost anywhere in the main part of Jungle X. It’s an eyesore and an immersion killer. Literally anything in that space — even just thematically painted coaster track and supports — that can make FOF’s presence less imposing is a win in my book.

@rswashdc isn't wrong though. In addition to filling that spot, the west side of the park particularly in Old Virginia could use another coaster to draw crowds to that area.

I've thought that the FOF building was an eyesore even when Volcano was around. Without it, the mountain would look more natural from the Eiffel Tower against the background of trees.

My thoughts are that the park would only retheme rides (other than ownership changes) if a new attraction was installed near said rides or as part of a park wide celebration (like an anniversary). When Twisted Timbers was added, Ricochet became Apple Zapple and Rebel Yell became Racer 75. And while they didn't remake all of Safari Village into JX when Tumbili came, it seems like the immediate area of the new ride was focused on. With the 50th anniversary on the horizon, that would be a good time to take care of the remaining unfittingly themed rides in the jungle. Then whatever succeeds Volcano will be the last part in 2025 (the year I'm predicting for it).

They've spruced up the whole area well. But it's also obvious that the entire area is supposed to be built around something in that spot. Still feels Erie looking at that empty plot filled with rubble

IMHO I feel the park is gonna do whatever is gonna please the gp and that Is definitely Replace volcano with a high thrill coaster. A lot of people thought Tumbili was the replacement but we’re relieved when they found out it wasn’t. So I can only imagine the uproar in people if kd ever filled the plot with a flat ride package or anything other than a high thrill coaster. But I do agree that old va needs another coaster cause the park is a little lopsided.

Honestly they should say F it put a station at the very end for a huge Mack Hyper going out along the parking lot. Professor Wheys ultimate discovery. Zamperla flats and food place maybe a more compact coaster between the station and the rest of Jungle X. Rethemes of Backlot, FOF, and I305, *chefs kiss Jungle X-Pedition at KD. Zamperla Gryphon anyone?
