I agree that many parents fucking suck and I wouldn't have dreamt of doing this stuff as a kid. That said, unfortunately, this is the reality that we find ourselves in meaning that KD does need to fix it with some sort of physical change. In the short-term, until such a change can be made, KD needs to have a security person in the area to prevent the issue and to ban repeat offenders. People are going to get hurt and theming is going to be legit damaged (if these things haven't already occurred).

It's early in the season but I've already seen unaccompanied kids and teens causing problems at KD this year—security needs to be increased.
As long as they don’t to the ugly meeting that Epic Universe did on a few coasters.

I believe @warfelg is referring to how universal added a LOT of netting to Curse of the Werewolf post-build. Some people have jokingly called it “Curse of the Topgolf” due to how it looks.
Damn auto correct, but yes you got what I was trying to say. I was too busy getting my ass whipped by a golf course to really pay attention to it after the fact.

Something weird I noticed: the bulletin boards at the beginning of the Rapterra queue have been almost totally redone since opening weekend. A handful of images that I remember seeing opening weekend (a picture of a volcano that said “Last Eruption 2018” and that UFO meme that says “I want to believe” come to mind) are gone. There are a handful more Easter eggs referencing past attractions like old Volcano blueprints and things like that. It’s weird to me that they’d scrap what seemed like a perfectly fine setup, but I guess someone wasn’t satisfied with how it looked original.

But one really odd thing caught my attention: tons of IDs branded with Kings Island’s Area 72 branding are scattered throughout the artifacts. (Area 72 is KI’s mini themed area containing Orion and their Flight of Fear.) I’m scratching my head on this one. Are they just fun links to the CF/SF coaster lore universe? Are they a hint at something? Why were they added after the ride opened?

I’m probably reading too much into it, but the seemingly intentional and heavy-handed addition of this specific detail just seems… odd. (Incidentally, a few new images from the FOF queue video have been added to the bulletin boards too.)

Weird.

Shade canopies in place. Seems to be at least one missing. One by the entrance

It's the mesh type that let some sun through. Sorry, didn't think to take pics.

Some pictures of the current shade canopies as of this weekend:

So though they are certainly not the greatest in terms of coverage, it's definitely a start. Fortunately I would assume more will be hung over this coming week.

I'm putting my money on all of Jungle-X being tied to area 72 and the FOF twins. Aliens in the jungle!

I got two more rides on Rapterra yesterday, both on the right side, in the 2nd row inside and front row inside seats. I had a much better time than my last time riding the coaster, especially my 2nd row ride. I honestly think the right side of the coaster is better in every seat for some reason. I still hate the restraints, but I think they're starting to get a bit more broken in now. It was mid-afternoon, 85° and sunny, so the conditions were basically ideal to deliver the best possible rides. Looking forward to returning to the park at the end of this month, hopefully with a freshly reopened Pantherian to ride as well.

What have the lines been like recently for Rapterra, specifically around open and close on Fridays and Sundays? Has the line gotten long really fast in the mornings? Still haven't gotten to KD this year, and I'm really not looking to wait 3 hours for a coaster at my home park lmao

I popped by the park around 2pm last Friday for a couple hours (park hours were 9a-6p) and while I was there, it was only posting about a 20-30 minute wait and it ended up being just about that. The line moved pretty fast and wasn’t terrible at all.

As Friday crowds here in May are hard to predict (given the school groups), @rollercoastercoaster I would strongly recommend Sundays.

And if you have the ability, target towards the close of the day... where here on Sunday 5/4 (with a park closing at 8pm), crowds at the end of the day were really sparse. And between 6:50pm to 7:45pm tonight, I rode Rapterra nine straight times; where it was a walk-on just about every time up to the station.

Where in comparison: My son and I tried to ride it yesterday (Saturday 5/3), getting in line just 30 minutes after park opening. We waited about 20 minutes in line (under the blazing sun), with the line barely moving due to operational issues with the coaster. And we eventually gave up (walking back out of the queue).

Getting some early evening rides on Rapterra recently, I noticed (and liked) how FoF's main building catches Rapterra's and Tumbili's shadows from the setting sun:

So though it would be great for the park to do some theming/painting of the entire building - not just the launch section, provided operation of FoF is in their long-term roadmap - at least there's one time of day the building doesn't look quite as bad/noticeable, gaining a bit of "character".
