This is probably a hot take but with all of this "archeological dig" theming they've got going in the area plus the teaser, I would be all for them re-renaming that area of the park to something like The Lost Kingdom:

  1. The logo at the entrance to the area already feels kinda kid-ish. Same with the name. Safari Village sounds like a jungle-themed petting zoo and not like a place where they're unearthing all of these mystical temples.
  2. Kingdom ties into the name of the park as a whole and just feels significantly cooler.

While we're at it- bring back The Crypt.

This area hasn't been called Safari Village since 2021.

Here we go!

I wonder if they will showcase this in Planet Coaster 2 akin to Copperhead Strike and Steel Vengeance since there is supposed to be a gameplay demo of the new game that day as well?

Totally forgot they changed the name to Jungle X-pedition- thank you for the correction.

I also just googled and the new sign isn’t nearly as bad. But I stand by my point.

The Lost Kingdom > Jungle X-Pedition.

I’m conflicted…. on one hand I take this back now that I’m actually reading the backstory. On the other hand… Jungle X-Pedition doesn’t really sound badass lol

I noticed the post references a “King of the Skies” and saw an outline of a bird in the image. I googled “King of the Skies Animal” and the Google AI promptly told me that typically refers to an eagle.

There's the previously-referenced 'Impundulu', but I'm not a fan of that. Unless they go insane and we get Impundulu 305 somehow, in which case, I'd simply laugh.

In looking around, I did find the name Aquila that I sort of like. Aquila is the genus of true eagles, and it's Latin for 'eagle'. Interestingly, there's a small coaster opening in Poland next year named that (see here). Should they chose that, I don't think it would impede on KD at all.

Another one I found is the name Hallux. Quickly researching the 3 talon scratches on all the teasers, Eagles apparently have 3 main talons, with the 4th (Hallux talon) being the largest. Would be odd to name it after one specific body part of a generic Eagle, but a neat name IMO.

I thought so too. Who knows!

I am not so sure if that is the final wall veneer. I wonder if there is some sort of stone-like "block" inserts that fit into the recessed square/retangular areas of the wall. What is currently up on the wall is really the "mortar" joints between the stone-like shapes.

I was talking about the concrete column / footer color. Looks to be sandy colored or somewhat similar to the catwalk color. Maybe my eyes are playing tricks on me 🤷‍♂️

Out of curiosity, is there any reason to believe they will not just go with one of the fierce-sounding bird names they already own the trademark to? Talon, Raptor, Thunderhawk, Firebird, Nighthawk, etc.? Firebird seems like it could tie into the old volcano as well I suppose.
