Huge credit to Kings Dominion for getting all of this guest area work knocked out so early. Jungle X honestly looks pretty presentable now and all the footers are in the ground. That's damn impressive.
Not quite all done there is still a fenced off section by Tumbili's Exit but definitely 90+% complete in guests areas. And we of course have had several significant rain events that likely slowed work.

Has anyone else noticed the soccer and baseball fields behind the employee dorms on the blueprints for project 2025?

It really hits home with the potential size of this ride compared to Volcano. All the footers that are in front of the Old Volcano sign arch and queue house. Makes you wonder about total track length. Here is my guess: 3700 to 4300 feet long. What are your thoughts?

Comparing the mock up to Thunderbird, I would say about 3000 ft.

Our mockup comes in at 3,047ft of track. I believe the scaling & importing of the plans into NoLimits we did was very accurate, but exact shaping will undoubtedly vary. So if I had to put money on it, I'd give another +/- 50ft of wiggle room on each side of that number.

Of course, now that I say that, that guess will probably be 300ft off. 😂

Does anyone have a guess on how tall it is?

I'm guessing the 1st element after the launch would be 120-140 ft in height. It could reach up to 150 ft. I would be surprised if any part of this coaster would exceed 150 ft in height.

Going back to track length, Volcano's track length was 2,757 ft. So, you are telling me this new coaster is just 300 ft longer? Based on the photos of the footers in the public spaces, 3-4 of them are in front of the former volcano sign arch. I realize they might be just lateral supports that brace, at an angle, the vertical supports with the track. I would think the 1st element will pass over the entrance arch or just 20-30 ft behind it.

Course, I am not an engineer; but, I would think for track elevation changes there would need to be more track length as opposed to a flat straight piece of track say in the brake or launch area
going between footers.

Bit of a shame that the faux rock work in that area has been removed. I guess it shouldn’t be a huge shock given how much excavation had to be done in that area to pour the footer foundations, but it’s always sad when some theming goes away.

I look at it as one or two things. Either what you see now will be what you see in 2025 or the current landscaping is a place holder to get through most of the prime 2024 summer season until weekend operations start back in the fall.

Depending on what CF/KD has in store for design elements around the coaster/area, you might see rock formations come back in some form. NO full mountain though. But individual rock formations that represents pinnacles, arches, cliffs, etc could be scattered through out that area.

Course, keeping with the excavation of ruined temples theme, they might build a temple structure as part of the ride theming. Again, nothing close to the scale of the mountain.

I keep thinking that this attraction started construction 4-6 weeks ahead of other past CF projects of this scope. Makes me wonder if this will be a heavily themed attraction and they need more time to add all those elements after the core ride construction is done. Plus, don't most wing coasters have 2 "near miss" elements to pass through during the ride?
