Looks like there is more effort put in the theming of just the announcement of this ride than BGW put into the final theming of Pantheon.

I honestly wouldn’t be shocked if it’s one of thosemy cynicism with Cedar Fair is pretty strong.
I'm wondering if these tease if going to be for a complete new retime for the area, not just the coaster.
I assume most average people will respond like "oh cool KD is building a cool flippy coaster!" or "that will definitely make me sick" or "I don't know why anyone goes to KD when we have Busch Gardens" or "this is a carnival ride" the GP look at stuff pretty differently from us.
This thing will definitely look different from the other coasters they have in the park, which is probably worth a lot to excite normal visitors.
For marketing it's probably way easier to sell this than another coaster that, to most people, will basically look just like Dominator, Intimidator or Anaconda.

I am actually excited to see it in the skyline with the bright green and bamboo color schemes. I think it will look pretty cool in the spot where Crypt used to be over there. Should have a cool presence.
I have had the same thought but honestly that will be a more complex thing to do then what we saw with TT. I mean what could you retheme Avalanche to that would fit in well with the rest of the area? And that doesn't even touch on the vastly mixed reactions that you would get with touching FoF or 305 or possibly even Backlot. Having several popular rides with existing themeing that doesn't really match make redevelopment of the area very challenging and interesting.

I honestly don't see a retheme of FOF or I305 on the table for this. They could make those their own section or something like Area 72 if they put another ride back there or something but I would be shocked if either of those were touched to begin with. FOF is so specific that I mean you could certainly make an argument for a mysterious alien base anywhere in the world. Intimidator 305 just flat out will not fit and I don't see KD just changing the name of one of their signature rides at this point.
I honestly wouldn't hate an Area 72-type overhaul for FOF/I305 in the future. It only really makes sense if they're forced to ditch the Intimidator affiliation, I don't see them throwing money away like that for 0 ROI. But I agree that it wouldn't happen along with a Safari Village theme. Retheme Backlot, make Avalanche fit the area's theme, add the Free Spin, and now we'd have a far more cohesive area.
Idk if I said it in here before. but If I hade control of KD, I'd add a AXIS coaster to replace volcano. retheme that whole section of the park to a alien research base in the jungle (call it sector 98 for volcanos opening year). Retheme I305 to a space mission, rename avalanche to mud slide and paint it brown (like what jonesta6 said) . Remove anaconda and replace it with a intamin mega coaster some time in the future, but we all know this wouldn't happen
An Intamin Megalite would be realistic, or a Gerstlauer EuroFighter I'd think. However, what we do know is the FreeSpin is coming and tbh that may be the only coaster going into the SV section.
I'd just hope they'd add a good restaurant (CP has sit-down places, could see it here too) and a kick-ass flat lineup if they don't go with a coaster

You know you bring up a good point, what if they are teasing both the free spin and the volcano replacement. The video is obviously for the free spin as they mentioned the crypt by name. While the coordination are for the volcano replacement as they both have to do with volcanos in some way shape or form. Pompeii was destroyed by a volcano and there is a volcano in Malaysia (but that my be a huge stretch since the malaysia coordination and bombalai volcano are 6 hours away from each other)
The props in front of the construction fence and the teasers remind of this Reddit post discussing the alleged theme for the Wing coaster. No idea if this was ever a reality or just fan speculation, but if this was a consideration, I could potentially see this story idea shifting over from the Wing to the Free Spin once the Wing was cancelled/shelved, etc.
