I want to remind everyone that these plans are old, possibly outdated. We have no idea what any current concept looks like. Who knows if it is even still a coaster. All we know is that at one point KD was discussing a wing coaster with this layout with B&M.

Calling it right now Safari Village is about to be rethemed to racing/cars/monster trucks and this will be a Monster Jam sub area. Anaconda has numbered days with the way CF is taking out older rides at an an aggressive rate this will simply help balance out the removal. This will have a solid capacity which the park needs, but due to the large trains I fear very long dispatch times are possible. Nonetheless, glad to see the park is choosing to act and replace Volcano with a new attraction unique to the Mid-Atlantic.
 
I liked GateKeeper, so if it's a wing then fine by me - not sure if I dig a monster jam retheme, though I guess that keeps it in a cars/racing theme.

I 100% agree with this assessment. I want something with launches, something like Maverick would be great and could easily be themed to a racing styled area if that is what Safari Village is going to become.

Heck a Copperhead Strike clone would be better news than this.

Mini Gatekeeper does not excite me. ☹️

I think this is a perfect fit. A clone instead of an original layout's kind of a bummer but anything I'd want on a wing coaster layout is in this one.I think the park could do something neat with that plaza too.

Hopefully choosing to not do the loop and the helix at the end from the Hot Go leaves some room in the budget to build a structure for a keyhole element or two.

It's literally a clone of ride in China. The number of people in the entire country who will have ridden this layout already could probably be counted on one hand.

Also, regional theme parks mostly attract locals anyway. They don't care if a ride is a clone of something in some distant park. It's the same reason why among the many complaints I have about Tempesto, its being a clone isn't one of them.
 
First wing coaster on the East Coast (that isn't just a free spin), I like it. Already more excited for this than Drachen Spire, but Pantheon will be hard to beat.

I'm more worried about the unused space than it possibly being an abbreviated clone. Will it be that much shorter than X-Flight?

Agreed. I think people are being way too negative about this draft proposal. Even if this is EXACTLY what we get, it's a really good fit for KD if you ask me. It's a unique ride type for the region, it's less intense than i305 and Timbers, and it will have great capacity and reliability—things KD definitely needs.

I get that a small wing coaster is essentially no enthusiast's dream project, but, even the exact coaster proposed in the leaked plans would be a big crowd pleaser for Kings Dominion—and that's really what KD should be trying to find.

This layout proposal would be shorter in height than X-Flight. It's impossible to accurately calculate length without more detailed plans than what I'm working with right now.

I'm with the crowd that thinks this would be a good fit for the park, especially if it was well themed and/or mostly blocked the FOF building similar to how Volcano did.

However, I just hope the final design has a bit more height (and length) to it. This thing is short. For reference...

Dominator: 161 ft
