So are there any hints outside of the free spin you think
Not at this time. Sounds like the free-spin and maybe a existing ride getting a makeover/retheme for 2022. Probably getting Avalanche back open.

That being said, with all the hoopla KD is drumming up for a Safari Village redo, I believe this is a multi-year effort leading up to a major attraction in 2024 or 2025.

Wonder if we get a new eatery of some kind with it. Does anybody know if KD has considered something similar to Harmony Hall at Carowinds?
I'm not sure if they have enough space in that area of the park for an eatery as big as Harmony Hall. I could maybe see them changing Hungry Hippo though.

If Hungry Hippo or Outer Hanks bite the dust for this I'll be ecstatic.

I don't know if a dining establishment renovation will be announced next week, but you just have to look to the recent trends at KD and across the rest of the chain to see that it is essentially a given.

Mac Bowl, Grain & Grill, Country Kitchen, Beach Street, etc, etc. I'd bet good money on that continuing for at least the next few years.

Chef driven restaurant would be cool if it's theme park friendly food options, portions, and pricing

Given the potential for changes to Safari Village starting in 2022. I could see Hungry Hippo or Outer Hanks getting a makeover and maybe a whole new menu. My bet is on Outer Hanks.

Depending on how the Free Spin is placed and themed, the park might have to do some renovations to the side of the Outer Hanks and Boo Blasters building anyways, so a restaurant refresh could be mixed into that project. I'm hoping the Free Spin will be placed closer to the main midway (closer to the former Volcano arch) so there is a new attraction that catches your eye as you walk into the Safari Village area now that Volcano is gone...

Edit: I know that it seems like KD is getting a different model of FreeSpin than The Joker at Six Flags Great Adventure, but here is a before and after of the Crypt site with The Joker scaled onto the site:

Existing Conditions (With Crypt):

Concept (With SFGA's The Joker):

Storage building isn't gonna be *that* big. If KD's Free Spin runs 4 cars I'd consider them lucky.

FWIW Cedar Point just announced the closure of Wicked Twister on September 6. Could it be moving to another Cedar Fair park? It seems like a possibility since they aren't keeping it open through the remainder of the 2021 season.

If so, could you see it in Kings Dominion's revamped Safari Village? This is just fun speculation, but it seems like a relatively inexpensive way to replace both The Crypt and Volcano all at once since I doubt Cedar Fair would want to spend $20+ million for a new coaster at KD in the coming years as the chain recovers from the pandemic. Also, Volcano was by far the most popular roller coaster at Kings Dominion prior to its removal. Wicked Twister isn't nearly as cool, but it still has a similar launch component and could be themed well in the middle with a station house fly-through. It could be themed as a post volcano eruption, AKA "The Volcanic Eruption at Pompeii Italy" teaser.

Once again, I highly doubt the park will get more than one ride next season (Free Spin) and am just speculating...

Except all the Hoopla points to 2022, not 2024 nor 2025. They had "22" in two of the videos.
