I personally think this is Intamin teething issues combined with the fact that the ride sat idle for too long. If you let a car sit for a year or two you're almost certainly going to have issues with it when you start driving it again.

I also was thinking -- and I don't know if this is the case -- that maybe since SEAS left the ride sit for so long the time period that Intamin would have on-site assistance for the opening of a ride had expired so the park shot themselves in the foot and now they are trying to figure things out over the phone -- and this coaster has technology that isn't like anything else BGW has worked with before. It's my understanding that when you get a ride from Intamin they'll have someone on site for a determined amount of time at opening specifically so they can work with the park on issues that occur but, of course, that's built into a schedule. With the way BGW/SEAS kept delaying the coaster without being up front about it it could just be that Intamin doesn't have people available at this point as they are needed on other projects.
I heard reports of Intamin reps on site during the preview period but can't say how long they were there for. My understanding is that BGW also rebuilt the trains during the down period as there was an issue with their state during last years testing that made them run extremely ruff which the rebuild addressed.

I know in the past I've heard of parks having Intamin reps somewhat "embedded" with their maintenance crew for the first year or a good portion of it but I don't know what is normal. I could certainly see Intamin not having the time to allocate for the year since it was delayed (and was delayed without much notice) but they at least fit in a few weeks during previews (and could potentially be why there was such a lengthy preview with sudden limitations added to it such as the single ride thing). This is all assumption though.

Interesting about the trains. That could explain a lot of the weirdness with regards to restraints and other issues.

I wouldn't think that an Intamin rep would be on-site 100% of the time, but they do have them on speed dial and potentially an overnight flight if they are needed in person. A new ride that just opened up this year did this... the park had an issue and needed guidance. They got the manufacturer on the phone and the engineer ended up at the park within a day or two.

So i’ve been waiting a while to see if anyone mentioned this basket…..

It wasn't SFWoA level but it was the closest I ever got (and after WoA I didn't visit another SF park for more than 15 years)
Lmaoo you really didn’t visit any six flags again after one bad day? It happens, don’t try to act like you’re making a statement.

If you feel strongly enough about how poorly you've been mistreated by a business, this is a pretty normal response. It's honestly pretty thoosie-brained to keep returning to a business that you feel consistently wrongs you (I say that as someone who does that).

I think we all have different lines of what “mistreated” is too. I feel especially with the case @CoasterTalkBob has, I wouldn’t be driven away unless that happened 3-4 times in a row. Maybe part of that is just me being understanding.

I haven't personally had a bad enough day at a park for that to happen, but I have personally had a bad enough experience at a restaurant that I've never returned to anything in that chain. Don't underestimate someone else's experience, everyone's tolerance is different for different things. (And that park was HORRIBLY mismanaged. I had security yell at me for taking pictures of a coaster from the midway. )

Why do I get the feeling that bgw is about to do something that may or may not benefit the ride? ie catwalks or lsms at the top of the tophat?

I doubt it will be LSMs since they're already having enough trouble with the wind possibly causing a valley.

That’s exactly why I suggested lsms. Those would be up there to ensure it makes it over, give it a little extra boost if needed?
