Little known fact, Guest Relations knows NOTHING. You wouldn't believe the times we've had people come by that say GR told them one thing, we would call down there and they would confirm they actually did say something, and it would be completely false. Numerous times on ride safety issues, downtime, heights, phone retrieval, etc. Their job is a last ditch effort to get an unhappy guest to come back to the park, so they will say just about anything. Of course they will tell you that if you stick around after park close, we will go get a lost phone. In reality, we only did that if a phone was visibly located in a restricted area and you had to really annoy the area supervisor to have us get it then. Otherwise, it would be in a pile of phones maintenance would leave at controls the next morning to go up to GR.

Considering I saw it test from Nessie's lift yesterday evening I'd be inclined to agree with @ControlsEE. Perhaps the part could have been non-essential to the actual ride experience and needed for something else, but I doubt they'd do test runs while waiting for something that'd keep the public off the ride.

In Festa Italia rn. Pantheon is testing and people are lined up about 20 heads long at the bridge.

An employee said it should be open imminently!
Any update —did the story end happily? Seriously considering driving back up tomorrow.

Can’t believe that after three years of hyping this ride up in my head, it still absolutely blew me away. Even from the first launch, I was not expecting Pantheon to be as punchy as it was. I kept thinking it would be graceful more than anything, but I walked away in disbelief at the punchiness of all of the launches. Immediately walked off Pantheon and walked straight onto front row Apollo’s Chariot. What an amazing duo! Also rode tempesto in the same hour as the other two - incredible hour of coaster riding for me. My group was begging for breather after that trio. Days like today remind me why I obsess about roller coasters/ParkFans like I do! My gf and friends always like to tease about how excited I get at roller coasters, but finally being able to share some of that raw excitement with them on a ride like Pantheon is truly a priceless feeling for me. Like finally being understood :) hehe

P.S. sorry Zach for making you read about my Festa restroom trip! Those comments always sound funnier in my head! haha

Anyways, cant believe today was the day that this thread finally came together for me

So happy to be a Virginian today :)

Does anyone know where the policy of pulling up on the restraint came from? I don't understand why the sensor will show it verifying as green but you can only ride if it doesn't change to red after they yank up on it. Do other Intamin rides with the same train have to do that? I know Velocicoaster does not. It seems like a bit of a design flaw and one that slows down ops considerably.

I've never seen it done anywhere else and, yes, it's deeply frustrating. I sorta imagine that it's not good for the restraints either to constantly be aggressively yanking on them.

I feel like this ride is going to be the most difficult roller coaster to ride in Virginia if you can get booted from the inconsistent sensors and a policy to test them and the ride shuts down at every slight breeze.

It went down for wind when I was in line today again, I hope park management is ready for a lot of impatient annoyed people when they shut it down for wind for what doesn’t seem like that much wind to most people that don’t understand roller coasters.

I had been meaning to ask, and witnessing it several times just now reminded me. It's just bad design. The light is green or it's not. It's safe for a person to ride or it's not. There shouldn't be a gray area where the ride ops need to second guess what the controls say. Besides the obvious of causing delays.
