The speed is nearly identical to the animated POV. Won't be surprised if it is running at the final speed here. Only thing I hope is that they could get the train riding higher on the spike but not counting on it. Ride looks just as solid as expected.
Assuming the ride hasn’t even broken in yet, it’ll naturally speed up.

It makes sense that that is as high as it goes on the spike, since the track loses support. I mean the higher spike adds to the aesthetic

I've found that it's fairly typical for rides in the last several years to run at very close to the animated POV speeds, unless there is some deliberate speed modification like added trims or train modification. This close to design speeds I'd wager they won't change the wheel setup or anything, but I imagine you could see it run a little faster with grease that's been warmed up with constant operation all day but it's less than 2000 feet from the top (of the top hat) to the brakes so I don't think it will add up like crazy. It's possible they could adjust the speed over the top of the top hat but I think the way it looks here is how most parks would want a top hat to operate.

It is not running at any sort of disappointing speed though, so I am perfectly happy if it opens like this, and it's a bonus if it speeds up a little.

So excited! What took me most by surprise is the transition into the top hat. On the final launch forward, the positive g's are going to be insane when you skyrocket up that incline. Not something I thought about before on this layout, but that transition is really gonna come outta nowhere.

that isn’t the full speed i’m almost positive, they did some launch testing yesterday and allegedly from who i talked to today and yesterday have only been 85-90% voltage, plus the polyurethane wheel compound has to be perfected usually with large scale intamins, it takes a while

I'm curious about the wheel compound situation though - I would think that at some point they would have a standard mix they'd use unless unique issues occur - why make the wheels so specific to a ride thus making replacements more expensive and harder to replace?

yeah i’m pretty sure they have a standard wheel compound but for every ride it is tweaked a bit from what i’ve heard from intamins practices, it isn’t more expensive it just takes time to develop, they don’t want to have another millie or i305 situation with burning thru wheels weekly

I'm not sure about voltage, but watching a few vids about TTD and KK indicate parks tend to tone down their launches after opening to save on wear and tear so it wouldn't be too surprising.
