Actually the first and third are an American Hornbeam, Carpinus carolina. Also known as musclewood.

Not going to say park employees can't be reliable... Just that by the time they get their facts straight, the info has already been on this site for weeks. I also know first-hand how fast crazy rumors can spread at the park. Not going to get into it here... In fact, I think I will start a separate thread for that.
