I don't know a demigod from Demi Moore.

Remember, you're dealing with BGW, who has put more twists on historical references than Chubby Checker. I'm sure some of them were disappointed to learn Leif Erickson never traveled to Rome.

I agree... Gladiator, Trident...along those lines. But recognizable enough you don't have to Google it. They'll want a name that's got some chutzpah for the "rock jock" style commercials (probably using some of the teaser lines we've seen)....

..."Escape Pluto's underworld and be immortalized in the Garden of the Gods...as the Ultimate Gladiator! Opening Spring Busch Gardens, Williamsburg...."

The joke wasn't that funny you had to repeat it twice ?
There’s marketing punch with Hercules, as well, hence why its a strong contender. The Mercury ‘connection’ to Hercules being a winged coaster, as Drachenwolf previously suggested.

Winged coaster? Who said anything about winged coaster. MMXX is not a winged.

Quite honestly, any factual updates can be found in this front page article. Anything else you might read are "guesstimates”, "wishful thinking”, ”I heard it thru the Dippin' Dots telegraph”, "I'm a coaster expert because I've ridden them for years” and "a Kingsmill deer showed me the leaked plans".

Any chance the name could be in the clues, very abstractly, as in the first letters of each verb? I.e. Escape, Run, Rise, Implore... Not necessarily in that order, and there is going to be one more teaser before the announcement.. I like the Gladiator and Hercules suggestions so far, but maybe the answer has been in front of us the entire time...

Edit: I also don't know what word they could actually make out of those letters, plus one, fictional or in the dictionary.

Candidly, I don’t see scrabble adding anything to the tease.

Side note: I think the mmxx announcement date of 30 July is very intentional.

It's exactly one week before the SeaWorld 2Q earnings call.

This allows the execs to freely discuss mmxx on the call; along with whatever other new SeaWorld attractions are already officially announced by that point.

Gladiators were fighters for entertainment, not soldiers or connected to the gods. They didn’t run messages, they weren’t sailors who plunged into the sea. They didn’t win to escape Pluto’s underworld. They won and received honorable recognition from Cesare and fan mail from the audience. They were the rock stars of the ancient world.

My thoughts.

Has Spartacus been put forward as possible coaster name? Recalling the TV mini-Series, “Spartacus: Gods of the Arena.”

(In any scenario, the train as Mercury’s wings would seemingly work)

That seems like the best reference for possible names thus far. I think some the name guesses here are cool, but generic, and I believe the park had said one of the reasons they wanted unusual spelling on InvadR is so they could copyright it and make sure it would stay unique. Most other major names (I guess excluding Griffon and Loch Ness Monster) are either unique or a combination of 2+ words: Alpengeist, Verbolten, InvadR, Tempesto, Apollo's Chariot, etc. If I had to guess, I'd say the same will apply here. Either 2-3 words, or something unique that can be copyrighted.

^^ I understand where the 8 letter "leak" came from, but unless details have been hidden from my eyes, I don't see it as concrete truth worth abiding by. It may be worth considering, but having these theme guesses utilize the 8 letters as like a deciding factor seems silly to me since it has not been very confirmed. At least to the extent of my knowledge as a casual onlooker.

Correct me if I'm wrong, of course.
