Busch would be "checking the box" for a winged coaster as well, in that respect. Regardless, the Intamin wings seem designed so that you can hang over the side of the track OR ride directly over it (as opposed to B&M with only the former option), offering both types of ride experiences in one. Would be cool, IMO.

Its 2012 season would love to have a few words with you.

The "issue" with the trains early one was actually a track design issue. They made the radius of the lift too tight for the train. There's been slight issues with the trains, but most are overblown TBH.

It's possible Intamin has improved on their winged design given the many complaints of Skyrush (as 'Thighcrush'). It still consistently ranks highly among coaster fans. A winged train would have helped seperate MMXX from the similar Parc Asterix coaster to-follow, as well.

As far as I'm aware, Intamin see's that as a 1-off train design with the winged part. If you see the train without the wings though, it's basically the current standard Intamin train.

Only other model wing model they've built is Flying Aces, and as far as I'm aware no other park has shown the slightest bit of interest in Intamin's wing design in the US. Maybe in other countries but it was a one-off here in the states.

Don't forget Furius Baco

Baco is a Wing Rider by Intamin's books. That itself was entirely a one-off, since it didn't allow guests to cross the platform like Skyrush and Aces. There are lots of complaints about how Baco navigates its track as well, but I would hope with 12 years of track production since then Intamin would figure out any issues if a park snorted the wrong stuff and decided they wanted one of those.

This is getting a little off topic, but wasn't Baco's issue that the wings weren't sturdy enough and there's tons of shaking?

Either way....I think some aspects of Intamin's issues are overplayed (rough/snappy) and some are underplayed (restraints/launches).

Folks please rest this one, we already have our Voyage to the Sun on the Wings of Apollo’s Chariot. There will be no additional wings in Festa Italia. We don’t want to upset Apollo and have him banish us to the Underworld with Pluto and Mercury...

I’d rather us fight over the name possibilities again than further discuss how BG will further wing this project.

July 30th cannot come fast enough!
