Potter, asterix, and the "stock model" fast switch layout all have either a hill or dip on the triple launch or both. I imagine this is part of the e-stop system in case the fast switch track fails to align in time, so that the lsms can brake the train and "catch" it in a dip of track so it won't roll back to the switch.
