What do we think about a Formula 1 racing theme? It fits in with BGW's move to more recent times (Tempesto, Les Frites) and would be appropriate given the speed and Italian location of the ride.

Probably make it easy for them...based on their "over the top" [cough, cough] efforts with Invadr. Park a replica car, line the building with checkered flags...Done!

About the whole service road intersecting the walking path thing...

Can't we expect something pretty much exactly like the wild reserve side entrance to Aquitaine?

Here's a -- VERY ROUGH -- idea of what I got so far. I still have to smooth out the track and all that. I know Planet Coaster physics aren't the best, but I have found the .8 slider for the physics to be pretty accurate. In the game to get to the 76 mph from the slide, it's 215ft tall with a 75ish mph second launch. 14107

We could see something where the structure is not that tall, but the drop is quite large since it will go down the grade so much towards the river. Similar to Apollo's first drop, but bigger difference.

Still makes me wonder what is up with the 315 foot 76 mph thing though. So many questions...

Everything we've seen from the slide so far -- even the art rendering -- looks accurate, so I think the 76 mph is accurate as well. They probably just put 315ft as a max they were willing to go, then looked at what companies offered. Plans can go through a lot of change.

The original attraction circa 2017 was supposed to be 300~ feet tall. Plans got changed and we're now sitting with our current coaster using the original 315 foot height waiver. Parks will rarely submit height waivers before committing to adding a ride because their engineers and planning groups are well aware of their building ordinances and limitations.

Some rumored stats that I've heard from friends who still work at Busch is that highest point will be over 300 ft with the drop to the Rhine being 350+. Bear in mind that these aren't people with direct access to the plans they just know what the current rumors are amongst employees. This could just be a bunch of employees who are really only looking at the height waiver but they have been saying it'll be a multi launch for well over a year now.

I think we can definitively say that the drop will be like Apollo where the drop height is greater than the height of the structure due to the drop to the Rhine

I will be shocked if this is a giga tbh. Not saying it won't happen, but I'm not getting my hopes up. What we are getting is the high-intensity thrill coaster with ejector airtime this park has needed since forever.

I've had some time to digest (dinner and @Zachary's great write-up) so I'll start with questions and observations.

  • Unless a lot is missing, I'm greatly disappointed in the generic looking buildings. C'mon SEAS, tell the story! Set the mood!
  • I noticed the trains are 3 rows shorter than those at Soaring with Dragon or Dolphin. Perhaps the lighter trains will be able to achieve the added height (100 ft or so) this ride is projected over SaD and PA.
  • In that vein, I still have difficulty seeing a 300ft top hat. Both SwD and PA come down from less than 200ft and achieve 76-77mph the first drop. The "BGW slide" also boasts a 76mph top speed. I'd think there's gotta be some serious trim at the top to hold it to that speed because dropping 300ft+ would be a lot faster.

I know Zachary, et al are a lot more well versed in coasters than I, but I'm thinking the "spike" will be the single 315ft element. I'm assuming it will make it up part way on the top hat, come back down and get a huge boost backward up the real tall spike. Coming back down at a high rate of speed, it won't need too much (if any) LSM boost to crest a top hat of 200+ feet.

Other than that Busch Gardens (T and W) will be the 2020 coaster destinations!

Just a thought here:
Intamin has done some sort of drop/sky shot tower on the sides of coasters, they could do another one.

I think we could see a “Phantoms Revenge” style Giga. Peak height isn’t over 300 feet, but the drop is over 300 feet. I’ll look at the exact topographic change but ground hugging at the bottom of that slope gives a good amount of extra drop height.

Support structure does not give any indication that a drop tower could be placed on the spike or the top hat of this coaster. As for the drop height the terrain fluctuation is about 40 feet from the top of the land to the Rhine riverside, so this coaster would have to be hitting heights above 260 feet at only 76 mph.
