RE: Project Madrid: New Hamlet? Giga Coaster? 315' Tower?

I felt for a while that a timeline for a 2019 project was way too tight to make a 2019 opening, and when they didn't start any clearing out last fall I was very convinced. 2020 Project makes sense.

Now they got the summer to stage, do environmental offsets, and all the pre-work they need to do. Late summer they can start to clear the land that they need. Through the winter they can do all the grading and utilities. Next spring get with footers, building pads, paths to the attraction.

This timeline makes so much more sense. Hoping plans are submitted to the county in the nest 2-4 months.

I think he's suggesting that Madrid is happening in 2020.

I realize, but I figured he might have more information than just the projected opening year, considering this is Zachary.. But then again he does have a very strategic way of filling us in.

2020 makes much more sense for a project of this purported size considering the lack of work done to this point. If this is to come in two years time then, is it too much to ask that something be ready to fill DarKastle's spot next year? I can't really see them opening a new hamlet and huge ride in 2020 along with a CoDK replacement, so if it doesn't happen next year, I worry that DarKastle will essentially be SBNO for at least a few years to come.

I don't think they will be doing anything major next year, especially if WCUSA 2019 happens. InvadR followed by Eire with a one year break before a big addition seems like fine pacing for me.

If they are treating WC and BGW as a package (like the new membership plan does) then it makes sense to use a new WC ride as that year's addition when BG doesn't have any new attractions opening.

RE: Project Madrid: New Hamlet? Giga Coaster? 315' Tower?

They kind of always have.  When they do something big a WC they rarely do something large at BGW.

It also would not surprise me if 2020 becomes 2021, 2022, then not at all. Or if it they had some large plan that will keep getting cut down in size over time. They may be playing a short gave to see how finances are over the next few years.

RE: Project Madrid: New Hamlet? Giga Coaster? 315' Tower?

Hi everyone! This is my first post but I frequent this page often. I visited BG yesterday and on the way out I had a conversation with a parking lot/tram attendant. I know most if not all front end employees know nothing about projects this large this early in planning, however. He started by saying that it was not what he originally thought but it's coming. I pressed further mentioning that they had tested soil on both sides of the Rhine. He said that what he has heard it's a new area and a "large rollercoaster will come out of it" he stated that it will be in 2020.

With all of this said, my young son told him to look at Apollo as it was about to drop and he said, "I've been staring at that coaster for 30 years." So maybe take all of this with a giant rock of salt.

If it does indeed end up being only a coaster i can't help but feeling a little let down. A coaster would stillbe great, but i was really hoping for something grander, like a new hamlet. I would still love to see a festa loop completed. We'll just have to wait to see the full scope of the project!

I’m pretty sure the coaster is part of a new hamlet
