By far the most likely reason is that universal wants the launch to be strong enough to always clear the top hat - a rollback at that point on the layout would be a big problem - but doesn’t want the ride to go too fast through the rest of the layout - no one wants a marquee attraction to open to nothing but intensity complaints. (Cough, KD, cough). Thus, trim brakes that were probably a deliberate design choice
 
Intensity complaints come from blacking out though on I305. A crazy drop and whip don’t affect Maverick or Skyrush that much.
 
I think it's deceptively long when it goes down the maintenance bay and crosses over. But they will have a queue set up across the bridge like they do for Invadr on busy days which will give more queue space.
 
I just hope they do something to block the view of the backstage areas behind the restaurant.

To be honest the station structures are rather uninspiring looking more like cheap flat ride coverings than anything to do with the gods. I'm guessing that's either because of budget cuts or because they haven't finished adding any theming.

However, I bet the most important part, the ride experience, will be awesome!
