Yeah, I was going to say the same thing a posts ago as it looked like that in one of the pictures.

My take-away: further evidence that there are no plans to build a mini-hamlet or whatever inside the footprint of Pantheon. (I had argued that point maybe a couple hundred pages back that the proposed dredging application pilings in the Rhine were NOT for a pedestrian bridge, in part because I didn't see a Festa Field crossing point nor attraction space as feasible, given MMXX's then assumed footprint).

Sometimes BGW's (and likely passed down from SEAS) planning leaves something to be desired. A bridge over and through Pantheon for a head chopper on the coaster and a photo moment for off ride would be SO awesome (akin to watching Bolt/BBW from the bridge).

Cant say that but a reasonably high up source.
I have my own high up sources who tell me thst the only people who have seen it are people in marketing and some other VPs but they haven't shown it en masse to any groups of TMs. It's possible that some random TMs have been shown it by their VP but unlikely.

If you're talking across the Rhine, that would be one serious hike. (And people thought a path from Festhaus to the FP high point for a tower ride was a long walk. Sheesh).

I have no idea where that "mini-hamlet” idea is coming from. Every since the first MMXX leaks I don't recall that ever being even a remote possibility, @thopping

Realistic possibility given the plans? No. That's my point.. It never made sense once we saw the plans. And that was my point when the dredging application got people thinking about a pedestrian bridge that could potentially connect somewhere into MMXX's footprint. You just couldn't easily do it, at least on the Pantheon side, so what would you connect to? Putting a storm water management pond in one of the last sizable open areas really kills any possibility of walking thru there though, and certainly space for any hypothetical flats or dippin' dots stands.

As to where the idea came from...

There's some of us that desire it.

^This (thank you). Commentary over the past 350 pages of desiring it, or something more than just the coaster. If I recall, it was really less calling the idea a mini-hamlet per se, but more speculation about footpaths through MMXX, between Festa and San Marco, or across the Rhine, especially when that dredging application appeared that showed pilings in the Rhine--pilings that I thought were inconsistent with a bridge of any type, but there was quite a bit of speculation as to what could be done on either side if they were for a pedestrian bridge. Call it whatever you like, but more stuff, more walkways, more theming, etc. was debated and desired.

Oh, and there were things like this too:

Due to both of these, I am extremely worried about MMXX. It's going to be out there in a field. It's going to need to feel like a mini-hamlet (similar to Griffon). Otherwise, its going to feel exactly like 305. A coaster in a field with no actual purpose. I am especially disappointed in the bare bones coaster barn. I know its just a covered housing/maintenance bay, but I just expect it to be themed. I am hoping the leaks posted are just the before thematic elements, but I am not inspired.

Between this and @musicman3204 the point is hit.

I think I could say part of my massive confusion here....people made a big deal of where FF went because of the sight lines and trees that had to be taken out. But when something goes in a field, some want to see it filled out and beautified and that's something to push back on?

I wish that BGW had a higher operating budget, because I would love to see them buy some mature trees to plant around InvadR, fill in spots around FF, and now to plant in open spots around Pantheon. But it seams as that won't happen.

I just don't want all this work for just a coaster and gift shop and have it feel like a dead end.

@thopping Ok, I see where it was "dreamed" and some "desired" a theming or something inside the tracks somewhere. But since the plans got leaked it was more (as you've pointed out) of wishful thinking by a few rather than than something we could realistically see.

@warfelg I'm not pushing back on any ideas of beautifying. If you see some of my past posts I advocated for a Roman look since we first realized the direction: a Roman themed station, columns surrounding the first helix behind San Marco; (re)planting trees that were removed (which you commented on); columns along the launch section for a heightened sense of speed, etc. Things that I thought were (1) "needed" and (2) realistic. I also spoke out about FF's end result and (despite some member's scoffing) even unpainted construction fences.

In regards to "just a coaster and a gift shop", I assume you're referring to 2021. Unfortunately, that'll probably be the initial effort - even if my "wish/guess" of a Tower/medium coaster combo were to happen. If so, there'd be room for a few additions if the park saw traffic potential.

You're right in that the idea on Festa Field is dead, though I still keep seeing speculation about "a pedestrian bridge" pop up, which would imply something on each side to connect to.

But since I think most see Festa Field as a lost cause for anything other than Pantheon, the desire for something more than a single ride rages on in the "Project 2021 (?): 355ft Attraction in Festhaus Park" thread... ?

Since those plans aren't known, there's plenty of opportunity to speculate. Of course, I don't think we'll see a mini-hamlet there either...

@thopping I'm on the "this ain't no bridge" group. I never thought this was going to be pedestrian bridge. The sheer distance without major building on both sides is not conceivable for a connecting pathway in my mind.

I still believe (or hope) 2021 is a multiple attraction build. There's enough room. But I'm not envisioning any hamlet build but perhaps an extension of the Black Forest theme.

Sorry if this question is in the wrong place, but for the folks on here with experience with such things:

What in the world would pilings like that be useful for?

I can't see it being anything an average guest like myself would recognize or understand just because like others have pointed out this kind of piling doesn't make sense for a bridge, and any wires attached to them would either need to be submerged (no permits filed for that assuming they need to be) or potentially cut off the boats which would in effect eliminate an attraction. Any water cannon sort of effect would also likely require some piping and or wiring as well...

Someone before suggested these might be permanent moorings for dredging

I had also suggested perhaps related to theming for MMXX or 2021... lights, water features, etc.

Many possibilities... just likely not a bridge.

I'm on the "this ain't no bridge" group.

Yeah, I never thought you were in the "must be a bridge" camp. ?

I don't know that anyone ever argued strongly that it was a bridge, there was just a bit of speculation that it could be, and perhaps related to wishful thinking that either MMXX or 2021 would be something more than a single ride, and even better if they connected...
