I saw a video interviewing Larry giles. He said they’re gonna reveal more about the project as the months come along. The purposely made it vague so the GP keep getting excited about the different elements leading up to opening.

Do you have a link to said video?

I used my google-foo and found it for myself:

Around 3:05 if the start time didn't propagate.

And no; he does not say "GP" but he does indicate that they are holding back some specifics until later.

Ok, I see he said "later" for "a couple of things". But then he goes into important WOW stuff (a lot on the quick switch, stalls, spike, top hat) that should have been released in the ceremony or media event. So only the limited audience of this blogger gets what was truly the meat of the whole thing.

I can't Suzy lying (well, maybe to BGWFans ??) but, after rewatching Giles interview, he pretty much elaborated on the "cool" stuff so maybe he didn't get the memo. Perhaps the "later" line was when he remembered not to talk about stuff. Either way, strange tactic if true.

I recall making this same point earlier that they were holding things back in order to keep teasing information. Personally I think that's smart. What wasn't smart was all the miscommunication that clearly happened yesterday.

I can personally vouch for Larry Giles not being the best at what he can and can't talk about. I was interviewing him in 2011 about Verbolten and he was looking right at a PR manager for approval or disapproval to whether he could answer certain questions.

Watching Larry talk about this ride has stirred some strange, perhaps unconscious resentment for the decision to add Tempesto. Knowing this would come some day, just...why?

At the same time, makes me wonder about 2021...is Pantheon just a "gem" for Larry's 2020 (impressive) resume, and 2021 is his & the park's "Hope Diamond?" Makes me wonder - a lot.

This thread low key gives me the flu for how little the ride itself is discussed

Conspiracy theory that’s unlikely:
They have a bigger announcement coming in the winter and that’s when they drop more of Pantheon. So like a SPW announcement.

Conspiracy theory that’s likely:
They botched the announcement date, and then they realized the overlap they decided to not to be in depth. Add in Intamin sowing off a model takes some of the pizazz off the announcement and Harris opening taking away the switch-track announcement.
larry giles already said within the next month they will give more details about the inversions and the elements of the coaster and a pov

While the forward backward launch looks great, this ride is probably going to have problems considering it’s a switch when the coaster is in full speed and its manufacturer infamous for bad designs.
