Although it is likely for MMXX, this technically could be unrelated utility work. Since the site plan hasn't yet been approved (at least it isn't reflected online), they can't really do any major site work related to the project, just minor stuff like utilities.

I posted this video of new light wheels in the Tatsu Magic Mountain thread. But, after the BGW groundbreaking running lights on Drachen Fire years ago...this concept would be so fabulous for MMXX. These programmable LED lights can be timed to various points in the track. Imagine red accelerating, blue along the river.....

It's like someone asked "How can we make maintainence costs for a roller coaster even higher?? Oh, I know, let's put lights in the wheels so they cost 10x as much to replace"

Most parks just let things like that break and never fix them, so that guests can talk about how cool the lights were in the good ole days

Considering they're rather new, no idea how they will hold up. I saw video posted in late '18 of this coaster and wheels. I think this is a newer design. But Drachen Fire did ok with those old red lights and the moped batteries.??

True that. I like the effects in the videos but static versus flashing/moving might be the trump card. But, perhaps back in Festa, no one will care except perhaps the deer and other critters.
