Is that likely to be real? Where did the pic come from?

Kings Island Central forums. Apparently documents have been filed and are on public record but users on the forums are playing mum with the details about the layout and any information regarding the ride itself. It doesn't help that there's been multiple speculation layouts posted, and any of the "legitimate" documents posted have a variety of errors including the scale of distance and even geographic direction for the plans.

Give me the name of the municipality that governs site development for KI and I'll fire off a FOIA request. It's absurd that people aren't sharing public records.

It just looks so short, but maybe that's a scale issue? Or rather, at my ability to interpret scale from that pic.

This is why you don't trust your eyes and try and compare things. If the "leaked layout" that GrandpaD posted is the real thing the ride will likely be around the length of Leviathan.

I've filed a formal request with Mason for copies of any documents or other records relating to upcoming projects at Kings Island. Hopefully I'll hear back soon.
See, I told you to turn "The Leak Doctor" @Zachary on this to get the right shit.

Oops, I just realized Leak Doctor sounds like a Urologist.

I normally don't like to meddle outside my "territory" so to speak, but when people are playing coy with something everyone has a right to see, I'll try tossing my hat into the ring.

From what little information I have gathered on their forums, mostly trying to sort the possibly factual stuff from the BS. They're "holding off" on posting anything more because the original poster of the leak apparently violated an NDA?

Other than that currently they're talking the docket of a ~300 foot tall lift, really only one or two people in those forums seems to actually have an idea of what they're talking about and the rest of them are throwing spaghetti at the wall trying to either make something stick.

I can't fathom why KICentral staff would have a problem with some random member violating an NDA. It's no risk to them, only the person committing the violation is doing anything wrong.

Plus, if the stuff people are posting about now is legitimately in the hands of Mason County like people are reporting, then trying to keep that stuff hidden is not only just generally dumb, but also, frankly, slimy.

It's my recollection that this same shit happened with Fury 325 back in the day. A small group of people with the know-how required to get their hands on these records agreed amongst themselves to try to keep them a secret to help Carowinds. It's asinine. Public records are public records for a reason. Any actual journalistic outfit SHOULD be exploiting said records to the fullest extent possible.

Update on my FOIA request: Mason's public records folks are only willing to fulfill my request via snail mail so it will take a bit. Things are moving forward though.

Honestly not too shocked. I’ve had dealings with a few Ohio municipalities that were like that.

Here is an article from a local news station about this coaster.

They talk to one of the guys that helped to design Kings Island back in the day and they had him review the plans. He said based on the plans that it's a Giga.

This is my favorite line in the article though:

If they want to see in a frenzy they really need to look at the MMXX forums. Because 80 pages is nothing ?
OOOOHHH A WHOLE 80 PAGES!!! Parkfans' Project 2020 needs to step it up!

Seriously this is just bad analysis. We have seen repeatedly what happens when public records hit a fora or when a full leak hits. From just my outside perspective of just post counts our activity goes through the roof. Now a caveat, this site and Zachary in particular has a history of amazing leaks so people are lookinig.
