The only other Screamin’ Swing I’ve ridden is “SkyHawk” at Cedar Point, and while that is the bigger model, I preferred Finnegan’s. I think the location is what makes this ride. I personally like facing out toward the “cliff” because of the sense of speed flying off the edge. Anyway, I’m glad that Busch has added a well needed flat ride.

What I suspect should happen is they'll close up the dam tighter. So then the concrete spillway over the top of the dam will be the permanent course of the water. This will raise the water level up a few feet and would overall look way better.

I also suspect over time that they will plant things among the rocks. You can already see the start of the on the queue side of the rocks where the have burlap placed over the rocks. Looks like they're going to put grass here. (You can already see it coming up on the downhill end if you zoom in) The other side will probably get some Hardy shrubs that can grow among rock.

Don't have the shot of the dam I wanted, but I do have a shot of the burlap.

On Saturday on the ride side of the little pond you could see a distinct waterline from the pollen that looked to be a couple feet higher than the current water lever. I was guessing that’s how high the water got from the heavy rain the day before from spillover from the other side of the bridge. It had drained down to that level although I didn’t see a pipe or anything to control it at that lower level.
As far as the rocks and burlap, I would think where the burlap is they will or have seeded that. The rock though I think we have got what we are getting. I don’t remember seeing gutters on the roof and runoff from that height would create a mess with just about any other type of ground cover. Same with the ride deck, I dont remember seeing any drains so runoff from that would be the same way.
I do hope we get some between the queue and the backside of the shops....that view needs help.
I just looked at some pics from Saturday. You can see the waterline in the first pic. In the second pic though if you look at the existing bridge supports if the water lever was any higher the wood supports would be submerged. I would imagine they would rot much quicker if they were.

These are some good photos and I actually do like the location of the ride. Is there a picture of that creek before construction began?

I wasn’t to happy about the location on paper, but now that I see the “finished” product I have changed my mind. The shear size of the attraction is just “exciting” to me. I may be in the minority, but I think it’s a great fit and really made the hamlet feel “alive”. Also the ride isn’t to loud tbh, I could hear the hamlets music just fine. Just my 2 cents.

So I won a chance to ride it tomorrow for the Wendy’s Fries vs. Frosty Challenge from BGW’s Facebook page. It’s a long drive but my son has promised to ride it if he gets to play hooky. Plus I won 2 park tix to use for friends and family over the summer and they will be filming at the event. Ugh, decisions

Do it! You won't regret it and this will be a cool experience that your kid will remember for a long time.

Yes, this will be a super cool experience. Keep in mind, the park is closed to the public this week. So you will be the only ones in the park!

You'll get to meet all sorts of execs and probably Kevin himself. We can readily supply you with a list of questions to ask. Mostly about how much more finishing work they're doing.

I suspect they'll supply.you with some additional swag as well. Be sure to ask Kevin for a presidential pin!

You gotta do it...

Do it! But only if you're Team Frosty...

How long of a drive? It will be a great experience and the ride is fantastic. The park isnt open so thats probably the only ride you will get to do but it will be worth it!

It really will be a cool experience. You'll get to see the park closed and get an idea of what happens behind the scenes to operate it. And like Jahrules said you will most likely get to me several higher up people and ask all sorts of questions that you and your son have always wondered about the park. All while getting to experience FF with a small group of people. You don't get the chance to do something like this very often.

Don't forget to ask Kevin for a pin, he carries one you can only get from him. I should have gotten one, but somehow, someone else in my group got it when he only had 1 for the 3 of us... SO NOT FAIR.

Alright I'm in, I'll ask about the landscaping around the ride and anything else you all suggest. Thanks for the motivation, and #teamfrosty all the way

I would love to know why the "cliffs" we are supposedly swinging out over weren't constructed. It's the little things that count, and while I love this addition, it looks like a monstrosity. A concrete wall themed to look like the "cliffs" would not have broken the bank. Neither would staining of the concrete decking to make it look like the lush field they portrayed. It's ridiculous, in my opinion, that they advertised all year long with this concept art, and delivered nothing (other than the swings themselves) in that picture.
