Im concerned with the motion sickness, but with the screen in use I guess it can always end up like Kracken and they can just take the VR off and run it.

Park President, Kevin Lembke just posted this photo on Twitter of the fireplace with the overhead projection mapping.

i have a question for everyone in the thread: if the ride was to soft open, would it be only on saturday or on both saturday and sunday?
where i live we're having a daffodil festival on both of these days and i'm deciding which day i'd rather go.

It is completely unpredictable what day or for how long it could soft open to be honest. If you want the highest chances of getting on it this weekend, I'd try to be at the park on Sunday.

I'll be there for #BattleForEireWatch on Saturday and Sunday updating social media with my observations.

Soft opens are unpredictable, it may open Saturday and remain open, or open on and off throughout the day. It could also be open all day one day and not the next. Unlike a coaster though this ride system has been well tested so adjustments will be less likely to the physical system. I think the biggest reason for stopping soft opens is housekeeping that will need to be done. But only once full scale testing on actual guests happens we wont know.

This ride's opening may be get delayed just based on the ride. Consider that they did not change out the ride system. Presumably they upgraded it, but they did not change it. As you all may recall EitA was constantly down because of mechanical failures. It would not surprise me in the least if this thing had significant growing pains.

I would really hope that they worked on the bases some and looked at what was causing the problems and replace parts. Don't really get a chance like that often.

So the first photo the park shared showed a person improperly wearing the headgear over the nose. Today’s photo shows the woman in pink and it appears to not be properly seated to the magnets since you can see the lit screens inside the mask. Wonder if that’s a fitment issue with the flexable mask on different size faces?

You mean something not permanently fixed might not be perfectly light blocking? Sorry to sound like a jerk, but I doubt it's a fitment issue and just that there was always going to be a bit of a gap.

By design there should be no gap there.

In the one photo the magnets are connected, in the other they are not.Thats the same photo just zoomed in on the two areas I am referring to.

Exactly, they have this chance to get things right and they're not going to pass up on it.

EDIT: The BGWFans Instagram just posted pictures of the newly added information sign and it looks really nice. I love the magical whimsy borders. :-3

Soft openings starting sometime on or after March 30th with official opening April 13th..........no particular reason why I say that. Probably completely wrong.

I have this feeling that this upcoming weekend will be the perfect time for a soft opening. It seems right.
