flying drones anywhere in or around Hampton Roads may or may not be legal given the air space, but it is stupid in the extreme.

Not for a couple of months. Takes a lot of time to prep for that. Things like electric, plumbing, and other utilities have to be buried in their right place first. Along with grading the land.

This thread is so dead...on the train ride the other day they mentioned construction was going to start this summer and the ride is scheduled to open next summer. Do you guys think they actually meant next summer or do you think they meant late April/early May?

I am sure they hope for pass member preview. But weather will impact the construction.

Given BG's track record they may be saying a later date than planned to avoid any let downs. Mach Tower was slated for April 2011, but didn't open until that August.

Not a fair comparison. You had one company build a drop ride they had never made before and another company that is building a coaster that is much smaller than they are used to doing (and have been doing for the last 20 years). GCI has never had a problem delivering their coasters on time.

I can't see much of anything apart from weather slowing down construction. And I'm sure they're taking weather patterns into consideration for their timetables.
