so i went to the tour... it felt like a bad field trip you go on as a kid! "uhhhhh what else can we talk about.... uhhh any questions?"

Showed us two spots of the ride to look at from, no real good views. only good part is getting smacked when the paperwork explicitly said not to, then chilling in the sun for a bit at Busch Gardens. Now security is gonna see this post and be like "Damn, stoney got away with ANOTHER one!" so that's cool. Tour was legitimately only like 25 minutes. The ride looks awesome though :)

yeah like feeling a nice buzz, being in a nice headspace. Nothing wrong with that considering most people get a few beers going in the park... and its an amusement park of a brewing company. So its a part of the park culture, getting nice buzzes going. Im glad to embrace and represent that side of the BGW fans... the ones who come out on their days off and get as nice n smacked and enjoy the beautiful parks and rides.

You know... smacked.

I would think that the park will put a protective shield who's sides flare out under the track so that any steam that would hit one of the coaster trains is deflected out if the coaster train does cross exactly when the RR train stack is under it.  It probably won't be that noticeable to ruin the look.  This would be like the nets that the other rides have to protect park guests on the pathways from being hit by items that fly out from riders pockets and such.  It would be a prudent but easy safety item to have.

It is worth noting that the sky ride crosses the train, most notably in HD. I have ridden through a cloud of the steam before. No big deal, just smells kind of rusty.

I totally forgot about the sky ride crossing the track there! The sky ride must be high enough up to not be a safety factor as steam does cool off quickly. That's what I was thinking about primarily and that it just seems like the InvadRs track won't be all that high above the RR track right before Caribou station. But that must have been thought of and planned for.

I have to say I am surprised that you had a bad experience. Perhaps your tour was different than ours, since our event was geared specifically towards media. We found the opportunity informative, and had a really great time. Zachary was able to get photographs from normally unavailable perspectives, and more importantly captured new construction, as well.

Additionally, I always value the opportunity to pose questions directly. I feel that we get better information, and often glean insights otherwise unavailable.

On another note, are you saying that you knowingly violated the terms of your contract? Did you actually sign paperwork? I am kinda confused...

As someone who entered and didn't get selected, it is kind of annoying that you wasted this cool opportunity by being drunk at the park. Even if it isn't as exciting as you expected, you took the spot from someone who might have enjoyed it more. Also since you violated the paperwork by drinking when you shouldn't have, the park may be less likely to do these type of contests in the future.

A friend of mine at work got selected and went on the tour. He didn't even know about it until I told him about it and sent him the link to it that BenWilkerson posted. A few things he told me about it as we were talking about it.
Yes, he did have to sign a liability waiver form in order to take the tour.
The tour was just under an hour total with the actual tour being like 25min.
They gave everyone a special InvadR badge on a lanyard and a special Viking themed helmet that had horns coming out of it. They got to keep these. He said some of the park employees thought they were cool and wanted them.
There were only 20 people who took the tour so that means only 10 were selected as everyone had a guest. He said he counted like twice as he couldn't believe it was so few people.
They went up into the main queue building even with people working. Said it's got a good view, at least with the trees not in bloom.
The guide said the ride is 85% complete.
The train cars are supposed to arrive on site in about a week.
The landscaping will get going in like three or so more weeks.
Didn't give any clue as to a color scheme.
Said they are looking at an early April opening. This would mean they are most likely looking at having it open for as much of spring break as possible.
The ride passes under LeScoot twice. They are devising ways to protect the riders in the train from having water being splashed on them either unintentionally or intentionally.
He said he enjoyed it even for as short as it was.

Edit: Forgot one thing. The tour guide said that they are hoping that InvadR acts as a starting/bridge point for those that aren't big into coasters as hopefully they don't find it that intimidating to not ride it. They then hope that these people will go ride the others in the park and become coaster fans.

Let me clarify... I did not drink. I was buzzed, but it wasn't alcohol... maybe my username will help you out

The activity I was vaguely referencing was not illegal, I just wanted to clear up that I was not drunk, I was feeling a buzz from another LEGAL substance
