RE: Project 2017

Maybe it could be a coaster that starts off at the building and goes to the old drachen fire area and then come back.

RE: Project 2017

I'd completely forgot about it until all this talk of New France popped up. I'm not saying we'll see these concepts come to life, but they may be somewhat indicative of the type of development we might see unfold. At any rate, they're interesting.

EDIT: Credit and thanks to user Connor for digging these concepts up in the first place!

RE: Project 2017

That coaster concept Connor posted in the New France thread looks suspiciously similar to Polar Explorer at the Legoland in Denmark. Looks like we wanted Verbolten a little more.

RE: Project 2017

The second piece of concept art in Connor's post at the link above was, as I understand it, not for BGW. The drop tower concept on the other hand was.

Spot on, the second piece of concept art was done for AB so I'm not really sure what park it was meant for, or what it may be going to. :p Also, don't let the 60 feet throw off your predictions and dreams. I had the chance to ride Manta at SWSD which is only 30 feet tall with a 54 foot drop and is an airtime filled ride done by Mack.

RE: Project 2017

Ok, so I've been able to extract some useful information out of the plans that were posted by the park. They definitely seem valid and not just old plans. I've spent the past few hours analyzing these plans and making some sense of them, so hopefully everyone finds this info useful.

They don't need it until they go to build the structure, which wouldn't be until closer to 2017.

From JCC's Website:
A building permit is the authorization to begin construction, alteration or demolition of any multifamily residential, commercial, or industrial structure as required by the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code.

RE: Project 2017

but when are they planning on starting the land clearing and building process. i know that kind of stuff doesn't happen overnight and takes time to get all necessary permits and legal matters straight

RE: Project 2017

A few notes of mine...

So assuming the tree clear path is a rough layout of the coaster, it looks like it will be weaving through a lot of trees, which is good.

I hopes that it does go over the water basin. It could be pretty cool with some water elements.

While the queue looks short, I would estimate that it's going to be the length of Le Scoot's, which is substantial.

There's an approximation of the ride path. The station behooves me though. It does look like it's similar to CC but the way the log flume is right there just seems strange. I'm not sure if anyone recalls(I bet someone does) but does le scoot have any supports that are not the large boxy type? The plans show something that looks like Nessie's lift supports on the side that interacts with the site.

If anyone wants to take a stab at the station area, go for it.

And to answer gr8mat, I'd say they learned to announce things better and want to do this one better than Tempasta. Ergo they leak plans and announce the thing before it can be leaked.
