RE: Project 2015: Premier Rides Coaster for Festa Italia

^ I've seen the capacitors on another launched coaster... scary!

RE: Project 2015: Premier Rides Coaster for Festa Italia

I used to be a shipboard contractor and some of the Navy ships I worked on were Diesel Electric. They ran huge turbine generators to provide power and used electric motors to run the ship. That is some impressive voltage. I have seen first hand what a misstep and a flaky high voltage cap can do. Blew a hole in the side of the ship... did not do much for the technician either.

I don't know anything about the parks grid, but I imagine that Festa Italia is not on the same "circuit" at Oktoberfest kinda like your bathroom and kitchen aren't on the same circuit.

I figured that, they are on different sides of the lake after all. There will still come a time when infrastructure will have to be upgraded. The launch coasters are like 'FULL POWAR!............hold on, give me a sec...........FULL POWAR!'. LNM can cranked up the hill by a couple of average dudes (I made that up but it does not sound unreasonable).

RE: Project 2015: Premier Rides Coaster for Festa Italia

As someone who is in the field of landscape architecture, those site plans make me cringe and question what has happened to Busch Gardens. I thought this is "the world's most beautiful theme park" (even if it should've lost that title years ago)?

And to think I was just starting to get used to Verbolten's tacky metal green box of horror with a 50 foot floating tunnel facade... now they're doing this, haha.

RE: Project 2015: Premier Rides Coaster for Festa Italia

It would be no more than Verbolten. Actually less, since all it has to really power is the LIM's. Verbolten has the brakes, drive tires, thematic elements, 2 launches, drop track, ect.

RE: Project 2015: Premier Rides Coaster for Festa Italia

^^I actually disagree with you. This looks a lot better compared to "The Black Forest." It's just a giant green building! If they didn't have that one facade before you would launch it would literally be a joke.

So, is that star on the entrance plaza confirmed? If so, what does that have to do with a bike show?

RE: Project 2015: Premier Rides Coaster for Festa Italia

I am still curious to know what the actual "theme" of the ride will be.,..a few days ago, I was able to dig up some photos and information pertaining to a early 1900's stunt performer called "Diavolo" that traveled throughout the world in various circuses and carnivals. The stunt itself included a bicycle and a 360 degree loop.....so.......is this the concept's origin? What is the backstory of this ride?

Also, we have all discussed the small area that this ride is being sandwiched into...do you guys think it would have done better in another area of the park?

Sadly, the only way we can get a new ride is to either cut trees or get rid of a current ride. Unless they expand...

RE: Project 2015: Premier Rides Coaster for Festa Italia

True, but Oktoberfest already has a big coaster, but that didn't stop them 20 years ago.

RE: Project 2015: Premier Rides Coaster for Festa Italia

Do you have greenery plans Zach? Can we see them? Do I ask you for too much? Are you annoyed by me?

RE: Project 2015: Premier Rides Coaster for Festa Italia

No there's one tree left in the site plans. I mean greenery plans as in what are they going to plant after construction.

To go with the lovely Americana themed decorations of Stars Spangled Nights right next door now, duh.

This is Busch Gardens. We don't plant trees! We don't need trees!
