This looks really nice and like they wanted to make the lounge a worthy spot to relax.

I mentioned this at one point but it seems like the concept in parks as a whole is swinging back to experiences and value. I felt like a mini-coaster-wars happened right up into COVID, and post-COVID was the WWW where you could get away with anything and people would come. Feels like we've shifted back to the "give the people a reason" spot we were in right after the first coaster wars.

Hopefully we see more places like this popping up. But just as important as making them, I really hope that CF puts the resources into taking care of it and making sure it stands the test of time from use, weathering, and the like.

They added the snacks nothing to special just repacked chips and cookies. Also they added table top games. Finally for anyone having problems finding chargers they are at the vase of the lamps but it does appear you have to bring your own cord.

Grab the whole basket and sell them to guests for half the price that they’re sold for in the gift shops. Instant profit. You’ll make back the cost of that Prestige upgrade in no time.

Are you guys missing the #ad at the end of these posts? You can't tell me that some snacks in a room with slight theming is worth a $155 upgrade 🤣

For me, I upgraded because it seems like a perfect environment for remote work. Quiet, crowd-controlled, climate-controlled, comfortable, spacious, and with plenty of charging stations. I live less than 20 minutes from the park, so I can definitely see myself working remotely at the park a handful of times this summer. Hard to beat riding coasters during your lunch hour.

That, plus the savings on meals since I’ll be sure to take advantage of my meal plan during the workday, made it worth it for me. Plus, I figure the two guest passes nearly make up for the upgrade cost in themselves.

Don’t get me wrong, though, if I couldn’t work remotely and I didn’t live close to the park, there’s no way I’d upgrade. It just works perfectly for my situation.

While my primary motivation for upgrading to Prestige was to be able to report on the program as part of KDFans, I am discovering that I really like the perks.

Just as I do with the SEAS/UP&R Platinum and SF Diamond Elite, I value included preferred parking. The separate entrance line was great during Haunt and I expect it to provide useful on other high volume days, as well. The bring-a-friend tickets add a ton of straight monetary value right off the top.

I wasn't sure if the lounge was going to be a worthwhile perk, but I was very pleasantly surprised on Friday. It really does not even look like the same building. The area was charming and the seating was comfortable. I had access to a bee-free Coke refill station. Apparently, they have added free snacks, as well. The indoor section was climate controlled and the outdoor area had heaters and fans. I am very curious to see how it looks, once the real outdoor furniture shows up (apparently, it was lost in shipment). I very much look forward to escaping to the lounge to take a break from the park and relax.

Ha, the outdoor patio was a little bare bones now that I think about it. Also, they may not have anticipated the roof leaking as much as it did on Saturday, because water was dripping directly on some of the TVs and cable boxes.

I bought the pass just to support the park really, so the lounge exceeding my expectations is just a plus at this point.

You gotta look at it like if you're a parent out at the park with your kids on a hot day, soda dispenser inside, always free snacks, they sell beer inside as well so that's appealing. The value of something like this will vary significantly from person to person based on their wants and needs and if it's not a reason to upgrade to you as a consumer but it is to others that's totally cool.

I didn't know they were offering beer. Do they have craft beer options or just "domestic", aka Budweiser and the like.

Wait, they sell beer in there?!?!

That is a game changer for us. A spot to relax with the kiddos that's air conditioned, has beverages for both aspects of the family, and has comfortable amenities like a couch, ways to charge my kid's Bluey delivery device, and TV's?

This might actually be enough on top of the additional park perks to justify Premier for us.

If there's any craft beer it's gonna be COTU. I personally would love to see KD expand their beer options.
I'm torn. The beer nerd in me wants options. The other half of me actually really likes that KD has their own branded beers and that it's supporting a local brewery. Maybe meet in the middle and do something like where Parched Pig becomes the "exclusive" craft beer bar where the rest of the park only has the existing options? Would be a good way to drive interest in an under-utilized spot.

Eat enough of them each visit and you can get your moneys worth pretty quickly. Get to snacking!

I know you're joking @Crunchewy, but I hope people don't abuse the snacks. From what I've read, Carowinds keeps them locked up and is super militant about limiting access to them. I'd love to be able to reliably get a bag of chips and a pack of cookies each time I'm at the park. Hope people don't start taking advantage and ruin that.
