Thank you very much mwhinva for the pictures! They're great along with the area it's self. Like Zach said that last picture is amazing.

If you missed opening week and the new Planet Snoopy, I just finished the Planet Snoopy post on the site: http://kdfans.com/2013/opening-week-report-part-1/

I should have Part 2 up sometime on Tuesday for the other various stuff that happened around the park.

EDIT: I will be delaying Part 2 until hopefully Wednesday

For anyone who didn't click Evan's link: Rethink your decision. There's well over 125 pictures in that update alone and the area looks, well, fantastic. Believe it or not, it's leaps and bounds ahead of either of Busch Gardens' childrens areas. Hell, there's even more trees in Planet Snoopy than there are at Forest of Fun.

I can't get over what a great job they did pulling everything together to make such a bright, cheery, new, and downright beautiful area with so much attention to detail, thematics, and looks...the list goes on. Plus, I really like how they seemed to maintain that quaint charm the area had when it was at its prime...ah, memories. It actually makes me think of when all of the Hanna-Barbera characters were still there (but way better done!)

To be honest, I can't even tell where I am compared to KidZville in the 'new' area. Seriously, it's so nice looking now that I actually don't know where I am, and where that spot would have been last year...same goes for certain ride locations ;) . Did they open up a new pathway between Woodstock Express and Joe Cool Driving School? Everything looks so...so nice and new now!

Looks great!

Ouch. Sounds like a bad day for Kings Dominion's maintenance team.

^Yeah, I was there today and was a bit disappointed by how many rides were down (imagine a little kid's disappointement then!). Snoopy's Junction was down for a bit, too--they had maintenence all over (and under) that train to get it working again.

Snoopy's Rocket Express actually opened up for a few hours with only three "rockets" running (ie horrendous waits since the rockets essentially had to cycle through to reload in the station.) Lucy's Tugboat didn't even look like anyone was even bothering with today.

Boo Blasters also had some quick delays.

:-/

For those of you (like me) who are so mezmerized by the new Planet Snoopy that you can't even remember what KidZville was like, here's an extremely outdated link that has images of all of the KidZville rides when they still had their Hanna-Barbera themes (and Nickelodeon Central before it was even the original Planet Snoopy). Take a trip back to a KD of long ago. Pretty cool.

Great link, thanks for sharing! I had honestly forgotten just how bad the old area really was. It's amazing that over one off-season they were able to transform a place that looked like it belonged in a backwoods amusement park into a place that rivals the some of the children's areas that can be found in Florida.

Wait... They're just now having their media day...? Are they trying to make their official media a month late on the news?
