Yup! Haha Thanks! I did that post in a bit of a hurry sadly.

I wonder how long before Woodstock Whirlybirds starts getting its station.

I don't think Whirlybirds is getting a station. I believe that ride will just have an open queue line. Especially, with the trees around the right side of the ride. I believe the Whirlybirds queue line will stay on that shady side (like the original tree swings). The kiddie train is somewhat out in the open, so I can see the train station as shade for the queue line and for themeing. We can't tell what the new landscaping will include at this point. I assume they will be planting some new trees as part of the process.

As far as the rest of the new rides, Snoopy's Rocket Express Monorail will have a covered station. For the remaining rides, there may or may not be shade structures for the queue lines. I guess it depends on how much direct sunlight they get.

Course, if past history serves as a guideline, most of the former kiddie ride queue lines were not covered. I assume that was because they were so short in length that it was not feasible to have a shade structure for it. Whether that philosophy still holds true for the new/expanded Planet Snoopy remains to be seen.

Whirlybirds seems like a ride that has to have a platform around since the green part spins and if I kid walks into it they'll get hurt or if an object finds it's way under it.

Based on Youtube videos of this ride at Worlds of Fun and Dorney Park, there is no boarding platform that is flush with ride platform. You step up on the ride platform from the concrete base.

Here is the video of Whirlybirds in motion from WOF:

Here is a video of Dorney's Planet Snoopy. At the 40 second mark is a pan of the whirlybird ride (not in motion). It also shows "Linus Launcher" and, at the end, a glimpse Snoopy's Rocket Express. The girl's singing is annoying so turn down or turn off the sound: http://youtu.be/DzeUBJOVKlA

(Keep in mind some of the rides you see in the Dorney video are either legacy rides held over or new rides that were not chosen for KD's Planet Snoopy. I know of 3 or 4 new rides that were installed at WOF, Dorney, and/or VF in 2011 that are not part of KD's ride lineup for 2013).

For fun and giggles here is one of "Lucy's Tugboat" in action at WOF: http://youtu.be/EzlNAsbPLew

The former lost parents building is being changed/expanded into a kids nap area and also an area to get out of the sun on the really hot days.

Anyone know how much accumulation of snow they had? I'm sure it slowed the process down regardless. They can't afford to many set backs, Opening day is coming quick

I wouldn't say too much. The rain also took out a bunch of the snow. I got about 6 inches and it dropped to about 3 inches overnight after the rain. Would be all gone but it froze over also.

Id say they should deffinately be able to begin work again tomorrow correct? (today)

Flying Ace is the Jr. WindSeeker.

This ride (Flying Ace Ballon Race) I think just slowly spins and rises and lowers. Spins slow enough so that the arms don't swing out or anything and the cups will spin along with the main portion.

Now thinking about it... the park opens in 12 days and some rides are still not installed fully. Pathways are not finished. Woodstock Express isn't fully done being painted. Ride stations are not done. Fountain is still not in. And there is still a haunt sign still up (The Doll Factory).

Are they going to be able to open this section of the park on time? They still have to test and train employee's.

Evan, I think they will be working 7 days a week now until all is done. My guess they are further along than what the pictures indicate.

The park had a few other photos in their latest Facebook update. One showing where they relocated the Kidville's amphitheater structure to another area and are using that to sell fresh fruit and other healthy stuff from.

The fountain basin on the other side of the area had the forms set up to pour the concrete. Plus you could see where the new landscaping was going in around the fountain area.

The paver crew works pretty fast once they get access to the paths that need to re-done. The eastern end of the area (where the latest ride photos were taken) is about a week behind the center section (where the web cam is located - course the camera has not been operating since Thursday). My guess is that the center section is now getting its finishing touches and landscaping put in.

You can see Woodstock Express from space...

Now, if they would just paint the railings a canary yellow, welder's glasses will be handed out when you board the train.

And you guys complained about the Busch Gardens entrance sign color! Geesh!!!

:D

(By the way, I don't think the BG entrance sign will stand out as much once the leaves fill in on the trees).
