Looking at the replies to that tweet, there must be something wrong with the keyboards at SEAS. A lot of their subsequent posts have words starting with "b" and "m" capitalized. :)

The really sad thing is that the BGW marketing team would never even consider being this out there. They aren't this comfortable with social media and it shows. They'll never post anything like this.

SWO has to be out there to compete with UO. If KD ratcheted up the sauciness in their social media posts, I would like to think BGW could rise to the challenge.

This was shown a little bit ago with KD and bgw more or less roasting each other on twitter. I can’t remember exactly when, but it can’t be more than 2 months ago.

I wonder how SWO will deal with this removing a lot of event booth space. This will displace 3-5 food and beverage locations if I understand correctly, as well as completely changing how this whole side of the park looks. The very good thing about this addition is that it should lead to the outer loop of the park having a better dispersion of rides as well as opening the path from the bayside stadium to the entrance year round.

Any speculation on opening date? Perhaps member previews starting in January followed by a late January / early February opening?

Was kinda hoping this was going to be B&Ms take on the newer launch coaster. I guess what concerns me is does the surf coaster eliminate the issues with the stand up model for me? If not then I will probably ride this once a visit tops before the marathons on Mako and Manta proceed.

I hope so. It's one and done for me on Green Lantern at SFGA.

I started saying the B&M standups should be converted to vest restraint standups after riding Firebird. (though a conversion would need to be 3 wide).
I could see this model being a total dud for the same reason few other stand ups still exist - I.e. standing up itself doesn’t improve the ride experience on any coaster anywhere.
Standing can increase intensity and vulnerability -- make you feel like it could fling you off. Unfortunately I don't know of any B&Ms that feel like that, but Shockwave did. Shockwave was also an appropriate size (and simplicity) to need the intensity.

Headbanging is a definite negative on all B&M standups, which should be eliminated by vest restraints. Neck/jaw banging should be eliminated by non-Togo restraints. Hopefully B&M will finally see fit to include movements suited to standing, such as airtime. Launching should be good.
