I still have my fingers crossed for a B&M family coaster here—either a family invert or wing. Family rides at BGT are always crazy popular and Pantopia feels like a good fit for one to me.
you can count on BGT not doing a B&M Family coaster since SWO is getting a family coaster. Wing coaster is possible but the land plot shape leads me to believe that this will be an Intamin LSM Launch Coaster the likes of Pantheon/Toutatis.

My big concern about expecting a large project here for 2024 is that it's August 10th and they have not done much work yet at all. For comparison, Pantheon was already well underway months ahead of this schedule. Hell, look at how far ahead of this project SWO 2024 is.
You have a good point but we haven't heard an official announcement from the Park yet. We obviously have the better weather here for construction and may take less time compared to Virginia. BGW have to deal with winter so they are forced to start earlier, winter weather plays a huge factor. BGT technically started project July 9th with site clearing, foundation work to start soon. Support and track should be delivered by Mid September, Station work begins in Early October, it goes vertical late October and finished by late January. Then they have at least 2 - 3 months for theming and required testing in April. Looking at the plans though, the size of the station leads me to believe that BGT will not go crazy with theming. They may do a nice entrance and story line about a goddess or fictional character which the coaster is named after......Also, You Know Seaworld Park are known to open attractions on different time from the traditional Memorial Day Weekend. So while it is a tight schedule, they may have planned to open this attraction a little after SWO open theirs for marketing purposes.

Another indicator that this won't be a large project is the plans show only one building for the station - no maintenance building or any other structures - which means whatever this is will likely only run one train.

Additionally, the project is only 1.31 acres - which is roughly this size:

Yeah I was wondering about there not being a maintenance building on the plans (at least clearly expressed). I really hope it isn't a one train ride because that line will move sooooooooo slow, just like with tigris.

Also, just checked on Accela, and there is a new permit called "SEC - New Ride Station - Project Halcyon," in which the description says "New building, fencing and landscaping surrounding areas," with the project valued at $7,000,000 with the building being a total of 18 feet high (it also says that its only a one story building so the chances of a queue continuing under the ride platform seems very low). Anybody have any thoughts on this and/or what this ride might be? 1691720133580.png

Come on guys, One building, fencing and landscaping 7M... this is no small project. Go ahead and watch video for Pantheon, Building is one story about 18ft high. Plans are still secret and may well be split into different permits to keep it under wraps. Maintenance building will probably be included in the actual ride permit with is secret. Don't read too much into the 1.31 acres that just covers the project portion avail in public records. Additional acres could be listed under the secret plans not shown to the public.

that is correct, 1.31 AC listed on the permit available to the public. There is additional information on the permit not available to the public. Think about it why would they file a permit to clear some of that land in the back and not use it. I'm willing to bet that the actual ride construction permit includes that plot with AC grand total.

Pantheon 2, go and watch Youtube and look at the queue house/Station  1 story about 18ft high.

My house is also about 18 feet tall! Sorry to spoil it guys, but that’s what they’re building there

Are you working with some inside information or is this just optimism?
No inside information, just good old logic mixed with business and marketing sense. Somethings to consider: Comparing station size with Pantheon (1 story about 18ft, look at a youtube video for reference). Pantheon layout doesn't fit in BGT but Toutatis layout does.... so we are probably getting a mix of the two. 2024 - Seaworld got the family coaster, BGT got the Thrill coaster. Again logic, Cobra curse/Mako scenario a few years back. The parks proximity doesn't allow for both parks to get a Family coasters same year or Thrill coaster same year. SEAS installs successful rides in multiple parks with a small twist to each version and also more importantly they buy multi ride package deals.

Holy crap, guys. I just realized Python's station was one story tall, about 18'. Busch is hiring S&S to build a new Arrow corkscrew, obviously! How did we not see this coming? And in case you don't believe me, I can whip up a bullshit YouTube video with RCT3 to prove it.
nah, it's a Sand Serpent 2.0 by S&S, lol

I don’t think you understand how SWFWMD permitting works… 1.31 acres is the entire scope of the Halcyon project. There won’t be any additional SWFWMD permits filed.
You are right, I have no idea how permits works. I do know many people don't understand how opinion works.
Opinion - a view or judgment formed about something, not necessarily based on fact or knowledge.

yup that's what the docs state - 18ft tall

We do seem to have had a large uptick in wild speculation being proclaimed as fact here recently. Not saying that’s what’s happening here, but it’s part of a trend
At this stage of the game everyone is just giving their opinion of what attraction is coming to BGT.

No, people are looking at the peices of the puzzle we have (documentation, location, timeline, what the park has, what the park needs, what the park has recently lost, etc) and formulating hypothetical solutions that would fit as well within those parameters as possible.

@Ghost's accounting of the expected project area is a very good assessment in my estimation. Could it be wrong? Certainly—and that's fine. We're just looking for the most plausible explanation and, right now, I think the most plausible outcome here is that the project area is 1.31 acres and encompasses roughly the area outlined above.

If there's some huge secret plan that BGT has managed to conceal from everyone and this is actually some major coaster that hasn't made large-scale construction progress in August, feel free to tell us how wrong we were after it's announced. Unfortunately, I think you're the one who is far more likely to come out very disappointed here though.

Anyway, my point is that not every post in this thread is created equal. You may just be throwing your BGT wishlist against the wall hoping something sticks, but other people are putting a lot more time and thought into their hypotheses than that.
