The Kumba rumor was dumb lol. B&Ms don’t have a hard shelf life when you can easily replace parts. Dragons was taken out because JK Rowling wanted something more themed to the property.
There's more to it than that. The options at the time were Hulk treatment or replacement, so obv they went with the better fit for the IP. Universal runs their rides so much more though it's insane.

Plus they had to take the dueling away because people are dumb with letting loose objects fly into and injure others, so either keep a neutered experience that doesn't really fit well with the IP or go for something else.

No permits on this or anything like it yet.... unusual, considering the Jethro Phase 1 permits were published in October 2019.

Something funky is going on. At this point, I wouldn't expect a coaster for 2024, and I'm not sure what else they will get instead. Based on what I know, it might not actually be a bad thing.
Do tell... 🤣. Going from 3 major coaster rumors to zero, lol.

I do know that earlier this year, BGT told the Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council that they "began design on a Tree Top Attraction" this year (as in 2022), but beyond that... nada.

Just noting that BGT- and SeaWorld parks and entertainment as a whole- has tended to file attraction permits between January and March for the parks, mostly before 2019/2020 additions. It may be something to look out for in the relatively near future. ;)

Really doesn't surprise me. The gliders shut down a year or two before Covid, and even though Jungala reopened after Covid, none of the elevated areas ever reopened. Besides, Jungala is right next to the portion of the Tanganyika Tidal Wave that didn't get used by Tigris, so putting a coaster in this area makes sense if the plan is to also keep Kumba running.

I think only the back half of Jungala has been closed. The front half with the Tiger and Orangutan habitats as well as Chick-Fil-A has been routinely open. Wild Surge, Treetop Trails, and the surrounding mini area have been closed.
