Since PHPD will be on St. Patrick's Day, can we expect to see fabulous green/gold Illuminights and Christmas Town tinsel in Ireland? It is a bit funny how Ireland looks ALMOST the exact same during CT and Illuminights. I suppose it is the best way to save money, lol.

This will be our first PHPD. Can someone tell me where I can get info on the logistics of it: what the activities are, what will be open, what the hours will be? I saw on the passholder website that we can buy buffet tickets, but there wasn't any info on where/what the buffet is.
When I log my passholder info onto the website, I'm routed to pages offering me discounted guest passes and the buffet at PHPD. How can I access any further PH pages?
Thanks!

There really aren't any special events to speak of. It's basically just a dry run day for the park where you have to have a season pass in order to gain entry. Just normal operations.

Also, I would advise against getting the buffet thing- there's much better food to be found in Das Festhaus or the Smokehouse at a much cheaper price. Meal tickets are your friends.

Thanks for the tips. is there anyplace online I can find the hours of operation and the show schedule for the PHPD? I don't usually follow Twitter or Facebook - do they have any info? Do they usually have the same schedule as the public opening day the next weekend?

The park isn't going to post hours or showtime anywhere. The hours are 10AM - 6PM, but you really won't find that anywhere except if you ask the people that have been going. Not sure about the show schedule, I would assume its the same as opening day.

Yeah, I remember one year going and there was a show that didn't start till May or June, so I wasn't sure what shows were going on.

Get there early (before 10). It will be packed.
That wouldn't be a bad idea to do since I will be trying to go this year for the first time since being a season pass holder. Normally I show up later in the afternoon but I guess I will need to be there earlier then I normally do.

Yeah, 6 hours drive (12 hour round trip) for just 8-9 hours of park play time. I would at least go on a day they are open until 9pm.

Looks like the hours are 10am to 6pm.

They claim there will be all day music and festivals for St Patty's day.

I may have to convince the wife to take the trip down thought it's about 4 hours one way for me.

How "packed" are we talking? I was there on 10/22 for Howl-o-Scream, and it closed to capacity for 3-4 hours. That was miserably packed. The satellite lots were full. If it's going to be like that, count me out. If it's busy, like summer weekend busy, then it may be worth the trip from NoVa. What do you guys think? Also, is there anything special worth seeing?

Probably won't be too bad... expect only 2 trains to run on coasters unless we get another CT surprise like we did opening night of CT last year!

And to answer your last question, YES! isn't verbolten enough!?
