As a fun card holder (my bad I'm 16 and can't afford to pay for my own annual pass which I'd use no more than a fun card), reading the discussion on page 1 was excruciating. How in the world are you people up in arms because one or two non pass holders were let in to a coke lounge. This isn't some high and mighty instution of social class, its a freaking theme park. Get over it.

Obviously they shouldn't let one passholder bring an entire group of us fun card cheapos in the lounge, but what's the harm if its a group of passholders or a single passholder bringing in a single friend with a fun card. I'd be more tempted to buy the annual pass if I were allowed in with a passholder friend because surprisingly, just reading "Coke Lounge" on a webpage of listed benefits of being a passholder doesn't make me want to throw my money at Busch Gardens.
Ok i dont have a pass either as I cant afford it as well. So i get and understand what you are saying about the fun card. But i dont think it was meant that way. I think telling them to get over it is (again IMO) an overeaction. I can see ppl being upset that they seem to be losing their perks. Because they pay the extra money for those special items. To give them to someone who pays less wouldnt be completely fair IMO. While i dont think if i had a season pass i would be spending all that much time in the coke room, i dont agree that they should let other ppl in if they are CHARGING others for this. I think, and this is based off of what i have read here of course, that this is a VERY sensitive subject as many feel that BGW has slowly been taking away things that were "pass member only" and making them GP or offering them to Fun card public. People take money very seriously, and if they put out the money for the "Perks" taking them away or offering them to people who dont pay the same isnt fair. I dont think it was meant to sound that way its just a very sore subject.

I have a pass but i kind of agree with both of you on this. I don't see the issue with the park say part of the perk is you can bring on guest with you into the lounge. Face it free parking is a pass member perk they don't ask to see everyone pass in a car one is enough to get it in. bassed on some people's response they should at least ask to see the driver's ID and car registration to make sure no nonpass holder car is parked. I do also get angry that I see more and more perks that I paid for going to people who don't but again I don't quite see this the same way you have to have a pass to bring someone in and you can only be brought in by someone with a pass it's still a perk.

On another how sure are we that this is going away? Coke is ratcheting on there rergional markieting in the area right now so could this be part of that long term?

I haven't said much on this issue, and I think I need to clarify what is at least my position.

I honestly don't care if pass members can bring guests into the Coke Lounge. What has been worrying me more and more over the past year, however, is the pattern of erotion of the benefits that I paid for. SEAS and BGW keep taking away my perks and giving non-pass members the same advantages that I used to get exclusively with my pass. This situation feels like another data point in that trend.

It is not about elitism. It is about the fact that I pay a premium for my Plat Pass and increasing I am not seeing a return on my investment. I also feel as if the chain is signaling an indifference to its loyal pass members that I find disturbing. Why should I spend extra money for a pass that will get me the same or sometime fewer benefits than those enjoyed by Fun Card holders? Why should I continue to invest my spare cash into a company that doesn't seem to value my custom?

Honestly, if I didn't go to Florida so much, I'm not sure if the pass would continue to be a reasonable purchase.

I'm not a pass holder but I can certainly see why people would at least be irked. Imagine if you bought tickets to a show or a concert, paying for good seats at a premium price. But when you arrive at the venue the day of the show, the house is allowing everyone who paid for cheaper seats to sit in your row. What's the point of buying better seats?

The weird thing, with regards to BGW, is their pass holders are their most loyal fanbase - a paying group they desperately need to sustain and survive especially in light of Blackfish, et al. I think they assume pass holders don't pay attention, which is a horrible way to frame your customers. I don't think I'd get very far in my line of business if I assumed all my clients were ignorant or stupid.

At this point whoever is coming up with the ticket models for these parks just doesn't know what they're doing, the Fun Card is the same price as the Single Day ticket, there's barely any incentive to buy a season pass besides free parking.

That looks to be changing and I hope they keep up the progress. I see posts indicating ParkFans is blacklisted by the park but when I see something pointed out on here that needs to change, I often see BGW address it.

I only have the annual pass for the free parking and discount on food. I always did Fun Cards before three years ago when I realized how much money I was wasting on parking (I still don't get parking fees, since those lots are not maintained well). I really don't expect much more than that. I've never checked into the Platinum since I don't do Water Country or Florida parks. I can't imagine it being a good idea to get Platinum unless you were traveling to the other parks regularly.

Any information about the special entertainment listed on BGW's Park Hours & Show Times website?

The weekend of Sept 12th it is The Happy Dutchmen & Kevin MaC.
The weekend of Sept 19th it is The Happy Dutchmen & Harley Boone.

Not gonna lie, even though there is a breastfeeding room in the restrooms, I would probably feel more comfortable with feeding a baby in the lounge. A) it's already a fairly private room. As other people on here have pointed out, it sounds like it tends to be empty. B) Feeding anything in a restroom just sounds unsanitary. Even if there's a (as in a single room) dedicated in them. It could be that room was in use already, which means the next closest place is in LotD. Or they just didn't know it was there.

I fail to see the problem.

The lounge was full, when I was in there.  And there were a lot of teens and men running around.
And? I still fail to see the problem. It's a breast doing its sole purpose. It's feeding a baby. If teens and men can't handle a bare breast doing it's only job in life, then they need to grow the fuck up. It's not fair to the women who breastfeed to be forced into a restroom where there's only one nursing station, just because they refuse to grow up. Not to mention chances are it's not like the women just whip out their breast and feed a baby with nothing over them. most women throw a towel or a blanket over the side that's feeding. So you can't even see it anyways.

Breasts are not a sexual organ. They have never been a sexual organ and they probably never will be (Unless evolution determines otherwise).

So once again I repeat, I fail to see the problem. A baby has to eat too. And I don't think the general population would like to eat in a dirty restroom stall, so why should a baby be forced to?

A breastfeeding room isn't a "dirty restroom stall". It's a sanitary place designed for the sole purpose of providing a clean, comfortable, and private place to breastfeed. And with those rooms in the very same building as the lounge, why not use them?

Joe you missed the part where I said there's only one room in the Festhaus restrooms. If it's already in use, you either take it to a stall, just say screw it and feed the baby in public, or walk all the way over to LotD with a screaming infant and hope that women aren't using the ones over there.

Most women aren't going to walk the baby all the way over to LtoD to hope one's not in use. Which means they're probably going to use a stall. And that's if they just don't say screw it and feed their baby where people can see. And even if that's what they chose to do, which in the case of the two women Luke mentioned was what they did, it's their choice.

They are doing nothing more than feeding a baby. There would be no problem if they were using a bottle, but god forbid a woman pulls out her breast to use it's only function in life to feed a child in public.
